Multiple classes worked together to create a memorable event for the Red Hat Ladies! International Cuisine students planned a 6-course menu from different countries. Each student selected a dish from a country of their choice and researched the cultural significance of each dish which they presented to the ladies at the start of each course. The lab skills students designed the table, drinks and service. On behalf of the Early Childhood Development Program and KinderCollege, a big shout out to all of those who worked toward supporting NAEYC’s Week of the Young Child last week. Thank-you, LC State President Dr. Cynthia L. Pemberton, and Mayor Daniel Johnson for providing us with a proclamation for both our college and our community designating April 8-12 the Week of the Young Child. Thank you for your commitment to supporting the importance of the early years. Thank-you, Assistant Professor Magen Goforth and the Hospitality program, for hosting “Tasty Tuesday.” Children were able to create their own personal pizzas in the amazing Hospitality Program's kitchen facility at LC State! Thank-you, Dr. Sarah Graham and the Music Program at LC State, for providing a fun music activity for the children at KinderCollege on Monday, April 15. Another thank-you to LC State for providing 100 free tickets to the LC Warrior baseball game Friday evening for families that attended our Block Party on the lawn outside the LC Library. This event was hosted by KinderCollege, the Early Childhood Development Program, Fingerprints Children’s Center, and IdahoSTARS. This was such a fun event for the children and their families. Children were able to build with a variety of blocks, bounce in a bouncy house, participate in face painting, dance to music, and even have an ice cream treat courtesy of the Green Machine Ice Cream Truck. We would also like to thank the families of the children at KinderCollege for their continued support and participation. The best outcomes for children come from strong partnerships with the families of the children in our care.
In the first two years of life, children develop one-million neural connections per SECOND. It is definitely not babysitting, and it is definitely not “day” care. This is early childhood care and education working to develop strong partnerships with families and the community in order to support positive outcomes for our children. April 9th, 2024, at 9 a.m. PDT, Warrior Giving Day begins! We hope you will join us for this truly impactful online giving event.

The Hospitality program at LC State is hoping to complete the recent hospitality expansion with the purchase of a much needed walk-in refrigerator/freezer. The goal to get this accomplished is to raise $20,000 to match a donation.

Regardless of the amount or the cause you choose to support at LC State, your participation holds the potential to significantly impact the lives of LC State students.
