Justice Studies students in JS 202 Corrections in America participated in a tour of the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla this week. The visit provided an in‑depth look at facility operations, security procedures, and the daily responsibilities of correctional staff.
A notable component of the visit included time in the Sustainable Practices Lab, where students learned about the program’s vocational training opportunities and its role in supporting skill development. Each student was also gifted a handmade stuffed animal created through the program.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Washington State Penitentiary team for their time, professionalism, and willingness to provide this opportunity for our students.
