From now on, you will be able to book classes at the following times:

Classic 1-1 Class: 18:00 - 23:00
Mini Class: 20:00 - 21:00

Remember the above times are in Beijing Time, but your app is displayed in your local time.

Q&As
Below are a number of questions which teachers have been asking us recently. Please read through them carefully as there may be something you have also been scratching your head over recently!

Who do I contact if I need to cancel a class?
For class cancellation please message us on WeChat at boxfish_forclass. Please also state your reason for cancelling the class (or classes).

How do I connect to the student?
In the latest version of our APP(2.0.0) you don’t need to call the student. Rather enter the classroom directly and wait for them to appear. If the student’s screen remains grey they have not entered the class yet.

What should I do if the student does not show up?
Wait for a minimum of 10 minutes. If the student has still not arrived after 10 minutes, you are free to exit the online classroom.

What time should I finish class if the student is late?
Finish the class at the normal time. For example, if the class was scheduled for 7pm, you can still finish the class at 7.25pm.

Can BOXFiSH guarantee a certain amount of hours per month?
No. BOXFiSH Tutor is a demand driven platform and therefore we are unable to guarantee a specific amount of classes. In addition,the schedule is completely controlled by our system which matches students’ free time with the corresponding available class time provided by teachers.

Why am I not getting any live lessons?
As Live Lessons require a fast and stable internet connection,classes will first get allocated to those teachers whose connection to our servers is fastest.

What should I do if I want to goon vacation?
If you want to go on vacation or have a break from teaching simply close all available teaching hours.

Who do I contact if I have an issue regarding my salary?
Please email us at [email protected].

Why can’t I upload my answers on the Foreign Teacher Feedback Function?
If you don’t respond within 24 hours to one of your recordings you will not be able to upload an answer. If you fail to respond again within 24 hours you will blocked from using this function.

Why did I have 100 answers yesterday, but none for today?
The system randomly assigns students questions to multiple tutors. Please be patient and keep an eye on the APP, as some days you may receive many and some only a few.

Why does it say “scheduling” on my APP?
This means that you have been matched with a student but they have not decided which level of class they would like to take yet. It will appear soon.

Why can’t I download my lessons for today?
It is likely to be a problem with the internet connection. Please try changing the node and download the lessons one by one, rather than selecting ‘download all’.

2. How do I know if I'm going to be paid on-time?
A: We understand you are concerned with some of the reviews posted on our page from last year. We have adopted a new payment system since Jan, 2017.All of the payments have been made more consistently and accurately since then.
