Youthland Academy Message To the Community:

As many of you know, Lora made the difficult decision to retire from over 40 years of care and dedication to the children of this community. We know it was a very hard decision for her, and we feel blessed that she reached out to us. When we had a chance to officially meet at her center, it was clear that this was something special. After several months of preparation and work, we are excited to announce that Youthland Academy will be taking over operations of Kid Connection and will continue the work that Lora and her staff have done.

Who We Are:

Youthland Academy of Dayton operates 6 centers in Dayton, Riverside, West Carrollton, and Xenia. All centers participate in Step Up to Quality and have achieved the highest level of a 5 Star rating.

Our centers use Creative Curriculum, the most widely used curriculum in the country. Creative Curriculum focuses on preparing children for success in school and in life.

To assist teachers with developing skills, Youthland Academy has an education coordinator, Jill, that works closely with the teachers to provide training, guidance, and mentorship. She ensures the
teachers are implementing Step Up to Quality and Creative Curriculum.

What changes are we going to make?

We hope you see very little change. Change is very stressful for everyone, and we know communication is very important as we implement changes. Expect to see updating and upgrading
some of the structure. Painting and flooring first, then upgrading the playground and outside play
areas.

We will immediately implement our education systems, teacher trainings,and certification processes. You will see Jill and myself in the classrooms working with your child and his or her
teachers.

What’s Next?

We will continue to work with Lora through this transition. We look forward to personally meeting with each of you. Below, you will find our contact information. We have an open-door policy for both parents and employees, so feel free to call with any questions or concerns. We are excited to work
with you and your children!

Dear Kid Connection Families:
It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing, I have sold The Kid Connection effective May 1st ,2023. The Center will not be closing, Youthland Academy are the new owners. Corrine, my current Assistant Director will be Youthland Academy-Lewisburg’s Director, you will still be in great hands! Youthland is an awesome organization with many other locations. They have many wonderful things to bring to the children, families, staff, and community. I have complete confidence that they will take great care of all my children, families, and staff.

Youthland will still accept Publicly Funded childcare placements as well as private pay. They will have their representatives Courtney and Jill in the center on Wednesday April 26th, to answer any questions parents may have to make the transition as smooth as possible. I want to thank everyone for having faith in me & my team all these years taking care of your children. I am so blessed to be a “surrogate Grandma” to so many little ones.

Thank you, Corrine, for stepping up and stepping in for me! I want to thank my longevity staff Lisa and Krissy for sticking by my side for over 17 years! I want to thank my awesome staff, I could not have gotten this far without any of you! A special thank you to Archer Thomas for our Step up to Quality Coach. You have always had faith in us & have gone above & beyond to help us. A special thanks to my Dear Friend Kathy Petkewitz who was by my side when we opened the center in October of 1999.
