introducing, encouraging, exploring and expressing art since 200 TFS is an ART SPACE for Kids. It is YOUR WAY.

We are an OPEN STUDIO not an art school. We believe that the kids need a FUN, SAFE, BEAUTIFUL place where they can CREATE without limitations nor restrictions. School is a place where they teach you what is the right way or the wrong way. Here at TFS there is no right way or wrong way. Up here at TOP FLOOR STUDIO, the ARTIST decides what medium they want to use, which COLORS they want and how they want to apply the PAINT. The TFS staff are always willing to help the YOUNG ARTIST in their CREATIVE PROCESS. From making colors, techniques, composition, stories of famous ARTISTS to helping with cleaning up and untying your apron. This is your STUDIO; we are your assistants. The KIDS will learn by DOING. TFS provides all the materials needed to CREATE HERE. Paper, Brushes, Palates and all the tools needed for MAKING ART. Come up to TOP FLOOR STUDIO and DRAW. There are plenty of Markers, Color Pencils, Graphite Pencils, Pastels, Charcoals. If you want to SCULPT, we have plenty of non-hardening CLAY. Make a SCULPTURE then change it, or not. Do you want to EXPERIMENT with WATERCOLORS? We have Liquid Watercolors. There is an endless supply of TEMPERA PAINT but only the PRIMARY COLORS, Black and White. If the YOUNG ARTIST wants green then they must make green. They will DISCOVER all the different Tints, Tones and Shades of green. They decide which COLORS they want in their PAINTING. The assistants (not teachers) will guide them in their ARTISTIC JOURNEY. The kids are free to EXPLORE. The left side of their brain will get a workout.
*note: please read Elena Cangemi's Thriving in the Arts in the Bucknell Essays. Spend two hours a week away from the computer, television and video games and come up and get your HANDS MESSY. We have art smocks to protect your clothes and goggles for SPLATTER PAINTING. We have a large selection of ART BOOKS so you can DISCOVER ART MOVEMENTS and famous ARTISTS and their STYLES.
