Bluebird Atelier is looking for an energetic, creative, and dependable person to join our team for weekday afternoons and weekend programming.

This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely enjoys playing, creating, and connecting with young children. Rather than spending your shift on the sidelines, you’ll be right in the middle of the fun!

🌟 During our weekday Aftercare Club, you’ll:

• Facilitate engaging activities, art projects, and crafts
• Play and interact with children indoors and outdoors
• Help create a fun, relaxed, and welcoming end to the school day
• Support routines and help children transition through the afternoon

🎨 During weekend Play + Learn programming, you’ll:
• Guide children through play-based activities and experiences
• Set up and facilitate creative, hands-on activities
• Engage with children as they explore, create, and play
• Help make weekend programming feel special, joyful, and fun

🎈 You may also help facilitate birthday parties and other special programming at Bluebird Atelier.

We’re looking for someone who is warm, playful, responsible, energetic, and comfortable taking initiative with a group of children. Experience working with children is a plus, and this could be an especially great opportunity for someone studying education, early childhood education, art, recreation, child development, or a related field.

The Position

🌿 Weekday afternoons

🌿 Supporting preschool classrooms and teachers
🌿 Helping with play, learning activities, transitions, and daily routines
🌿 Working in a creative, child-centered preschool environment

We’re looking for someone who is:

✨ Warm and patient with young children
✨ Reliable and ready to be an important part of a team
✨ Comfortable jumping in wherever help is needed
✨ Positive, engaged, and willing to learn
✨ Interested in early childhood education, even if you’re just getting started in the field

Experience with children is a plus, but reliability, maturity, and a genuine connection with children matter just as much.

4 years ago I stood here and imagined what could be. I didn't know if it would work, but I believed it was worth a try. I put my heart and soul into it; it was my second child. Now this baby is heading off to kindergarten. Saying goodbye to this space is bittersweet, to say the least. Back then I had a small group of friends and family cheering me on, and I felt the support from the community. Today, Bluebird has the most dedicated team imaginable holding this thing together, building, pushing, and showing up. Our community continues to grow, and your kindness and generosity amazes us. So while I'm pictured here alone, Bluebird is what it is because of the relationships we've built. "Count my stars, they are lucky in the sky."
