Mud Club Family we need your input in the community conversation about Wolfe Field! 🌿
Join us Wednesday, October 29th in downtown Lewisburg, for a gathering centered around our shared community space — Wolfe Field. This will be a relaxed opportunity for neighbors, families, and local leaders to share ideas, ask questions, and dream together about the future of this special part of town.
Mud Club will have a space for children to communicate their ideas to share with the community!
We believe great things happen when the community comes together — and your voice matters. 💬✨

Mud Club: A New Chapter
After five unforgettable years filled with muddy boots, sun-kissed cheeks, belly laughs, and the kind of messy joy that only comes from learning in nature alongside the children we’ve been honored to care for, Mud Club—our beloved nature preschool—is coming to a close.
This decision was not made lightly. Mud Club has been more than a program—it has been a vibrant community, a space for connection, and a celebration of childhood in its purest form. At its heart, Mud Club has always been rooted in the belief that early childhood experiences of wonder, open-ended play, and curiosity-driven learning lay a vital foundation for a child’s motivation, social development, creativity, independence, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking. Cultivating that foundation has been our guiding purpose. Mud Club has been a place where children feel safe to be themselves, to make mistakes, and to grow alongside one another, ourselves included. We are endlessly grateful to the families, children, and educators who walked this journey with us—rain or shine, snow or sleet—with open hearts and muddy hands.
But the spirit of Mud Club is not ending. It’s evolving.
We’re excited to share that we will now be channeling our passion for play, along with social and emotional development into new forms:
🌱 Consulting and collaborating with local educators, caregivers, and community leaders.
🌈 Offering pop-up play events that bring joyful, child-led exploration into neighborhoods and parks.
🛠️ Influencing policy and systematic change to protect and prioritize play, nature, creativity and strong social and emotional development in early childhood.
Thank you all for being part of this beautiful chapter. We can’t wait to write the next one with you.
With love and muddy gratitude,
Samantha, Renee, and the Mud Club Family

Lots of alternatives to "be careful!" More specific language helps children hear your message and builds their vocabulary. ☺️
Instead of always saying “Be careful,” try using more specific language to guide children safely and build awareness. Phrases like “Stay focused on what you're doing,” “I'm here if you need me,” or “Do you feel safe?” help kids think about their actions and develop self-regulation. These gentle reminders support learning, rather than sparking fear. It’s all about helping children build confidence while staying safe. The way we speak matters!
