Researchers compared high schools that started AFTER 8:30am to schools that started earlier. They found that schools that started later benefitted their students in many ways:
Adequate sleep isn’t a luxury, it’s a biological necessity and essential to memory formation.

Experts on sleep, including the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, recommend that middle and high schools start after 8:30am for the health and wellbeing of teens.

After a school district in Wyoming delayed the high schools' start time from 7:35 AM to 8:55 AM, the number of car crashes for teen drivers dropped by a whopping 70%.

Meanwhile, the the USA, many schools start class in the 7 a.m. hour....

Teens naturally sleep between ~11 p.m. - 8 a.m. Waking them too early puts them at significantly higher risk for depression, anxiety, and even su***de ideation.
