Wondering what the Shanahan Middle School PTO actually does? We're so glad you asked! Our PTO is more than fundraising — it's about making a difference for our students, staff, and entire Scout community!

💙 LOOK WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO!
🏈 Supported our fall athletic teams throughout their seasons!
🎨 Added new signage and school enhancements throughout the building, including mural artwork to brighten our school!

🚨📚 ATTENTION MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENTS 📚🚨

TO VOLUNTEER:

Want to know what your child actually does all day?

WE FOUND A LOOPHOLE.

Volunteer at the BOOK FAIR. 😂

That’s right—you can actually enter the middle school DURING SCHOOL HOURS.

No hiding in the parking lot.
No pretending you “forgot something in the office.”
No AirTag required.

Just a completely legitimate reason to be inside the building. 😎

BONUS: You may even spot your child in their natural habitat.

⚠️ IMPORTANT RULES:

DO NOT wave wildly.
DO NOT yell their name.
DO NOT attempt a hug.
DO NOT say, “There’s my baby!”

If eye contact occurs, remain calm.

Your middle schooler may pretend they have never seen you before.

This is normal. 😂

📚 Help kids find books.

YOU’RE ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING.

📚 Help with the Book Fair
👀 Observe middle schoolers in their natural habitat
🕵️ Find out what actually happens between 7:30 AM and dismissal
😂 Potentially see your own child
🙈 Experience your child making immediate eye contact with you…and then pretending they’ve never seen you before in their life

🎶 SCOUT’S SCOOP — TONIGHT! 🎶

🥁🎺 Our 8th Grade Band is taking the field with the Olentangy High School Marching Band! 🎺🥁

Come out tonight and cheer on our talented Scouts as they join the OHS Marching Band for an exciting halftime performance!

What a great opportunity for our 8th graders to perform alongside the high school musicians and give us a glimpse of what’s ahead!

💙💛 Come fill the stands, show your Scout pride, and cheer them on! 💛💙

Stay after the game for a special presentation of the Olentangy High School Marching Band competition show Stained Fracture Light.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the Olentangy High School Marching Band members who joined us yesterday, Wednesday, September 30, to play stand tunes and bring some extra energy to our 7th Grade Football Game! 🏈🎺🥁

We absolutely loved having you at Shanahan! Your music, school spirit, and enthusiasm made the night even more special for our players, families, and fans.

We are EXCITED to welcome the OHS Marching Band to the 7th grade football game this Wednesday.

**Our apologies the band isn't able to attend an 8th grade home game this season. Their competition season is ongoing and their practrices are held Tuesday and Thursday nights. They would have loved to be able to attend. We are going to work to get them to come in the future to other events for 8th grade.
