Our mission is to improve the lives of children, youth, families and communities by helping them to identify, understand and utilize their own strengths, talents, and resources. Children's Beach House (CBH) is a Delaware-based 501(c)(3), non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of children,
youth, families and communities by helping them to identify, understand, and utilize their own strengths, talents, and resources. Our Youth Development Program serves under-resourced children with speech/language challenges from across Delaware, offering a community of positive, long-term relationships with their peers and with competent, caring adults. Rollins Child Development Center offers preschool education to children with speech/language delays, hearing impairments, and/or mild orthopedic challenges, as well as typically developing children.

The Children’s Beach House is growing our Milton Afterschool Program, and we’re looking for great people to join our team!

We are currently hiring:

👩‍🏫 Afterschool Teachers
🍎 Teacher Assistants

📍 Location: Milton Elementary School
🕓 Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 4:00–6:00 PM (with flexibility)

This is a great opportunity for teachers, paraprofessionals, education professionals, college students, retirees, or anyone who enjoys working with children and wants to make a difference for a few hours each afternoon.

Our afterschool team helps provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where students can receive homework support, participate in activities, build relationships, and continue developing socially and academically.

Children’s Beach House is looking for a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Family Engagement Coordinator to join our team and support our statewide Youth Development Program!

As a nonprofit organization, we work with children and families from under-resourced communities throughout Delaware, helping them access the resources, opportunities, and support they need to thrive.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about working directly with families and comfortable providing support in both English and Spanish.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

⭐ Build meaningful relationships with children and families across Delaware
🏠 Complete home-based needs assessments and identify family needs
🤝 Connect families with community resources and services
📚 Support families with school, healthcare, and other community-based needs
💙 Provide ongoing care-management and family engagement support
🌱 Help children participate in year-round youth development opportunities, camps, activities, and community experiences

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! In partnership with City of Lewes volunteers and the Delaware Forestry Service, we are undertaking a massive stewardship project for our property! On October 2, we need 50+ volunteers to (1) help clear out marked dead and decaying trees and (2) plant new ones! The forest service will provide all the heavy equipment, but we need lots of hands! The project will start at 9:00a and take a few hours if we have enough folks! Comment, DM, or call 302.645.9184 if you're interested!
