Levelland Academic Beginnings Center

Levelland ISD is opening up a Retired Teacher Part-Time Employment Option for our retired teachers interested in making a difference. We value the experience and expertise of retired educators and we want to fill part-time positions not to exceed 20 hours per week. Under current Texas Teacher Retirement System (TRS) guidelines, employment at this level allows retirees to remain eligible for Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designation and compensation while avoiding TRS surcharges and employment penalties that may apply to higher levels of post-retirement employment. Our opportunity provides retired educators an avenue to continue impacting student achievement, mentor staff, and support district initiatives while maintaining compliance with TRS requirements. Our Cheer Parent Club started this new fundraiser and the winner will receive a cheer uniform, bow, and poms. Today our teachers traded hall duty for full inflatable ambassador status and lined the halls to welcome students in the most unforgettable way. From bouncing dinosaurs to dancing unicorns and larger-than-life characters, the smiles, laughs, and high-fives were nonstop.

What better way to celebrate a year of learning, growth, and unforgettable memories than by ending with giant costumes and even bigger hearts? ❤️📚
