Last Friday, Dr. Ray had a productive meeting with our seniors regarding upcoming senior activities. One of the main topics of discussion was the highly anticipated senior cruise. We would like to thank Dr. Ray for her continued support, guidance, and assistance in helping make these experiences possible for our students. Our seniors are extremely excited about what is ahead!

Our seniors also completed applications for the Elmore Bolling Scholarship. A special thank you goes to Ms. Lee and Ms. Perry for informing our school about this wonderful scholarship opportunity and helping connect our students with resources that can support their future educational goals.
In addition, the Class of 1977 will be visiting with our seniors next month. We are looking forward to this opportunity for our students to connect with alumni, hear their experiences, and gain valuable encouragement and wisdom.

There are many exciting opportunities ahead for the Class of 2027. More great things are loading!

Our students had an awesome time at our first school pep rally of the year! The energy, excitement, and school spirit were amazing!

A special shout-out to our SENIORS for winning the school’s Spirit Stick! Way to show your school pride!

Now, let’s keep that same energy going! Join us this Friday night at 7:00 p.m. for our first home varsity football game as we take on Keith High School!

Come out, wear your school colors, bring your school spirit, and support our student-athletes. See you Friday night! GO TIGERS!

The Calhoun School mourns the loss of a true Calhoun legend. Moses Butcher, a former coach at Calhoun, made a lasting impact on our school, our student-athletes, and the entire Calhoun community. His legacy and contributions will always be remembered.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Butcher family, his former players, colleagues, and all who knew and loved him. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!

Dear Calhoun School Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to introduce our Student Excuse Folder, a simple and organized way to help parents and guardians submit important documentation when a student is absent from school. The Student Excuse Folder is designed to help ensure that parent notes, medical excuses, and other appropriate absence documentation are received, organized, and maintained for school records.

When your child is absent from school, please provide the appropriate documentation when your child returns. Depending on the reason for the absence, documentation may include a parent/guardian excuse note, a doctor’s or medical excuse, documentation for another approved absence, or any additional information requested by the school. Please make sure all notes include the student’s full name, date(s) of absence, reason for the absence, and parent/guardian signature, when applicable.

Keeping student excuse documentation organized helps our school maintain accurate attendance records, process excuses efficiently, ensure documentation is available when needed, communicate effectively with parents and guardians, and support consistent attendance procedures. We appreciate your help in sending excuse documentation with your child promptly following an absence. Please encourage your child to place the documentation in the designated school office/person upon returning to school. Thank you for partnering with us to keep student attendance records accurate and up to date!
