The St. Mary's County Fair Association is welcoming applications for the 2026 St. Mary's Queen of Tolerance Contest!

The scholarship opportunity is open to St. Mary's County young ladies who will be graduating next spring and plan to continue their education.

Contestants will have a chance to represent the county, celebrate community tradition, and compete for scholarship awards. The Queen will receive a $1,500 tuition scholarship, 1st Runner-Up will receive $1,000, and 2nd Runner-Up will receive $500 toward tuition.

Bowie State University has launched its Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence, welcoming its first cohort this fall 2026.

The 120-credit program prepares students for careers across healthcare, cybersecurity, business, government and advanced technology, building on BSU's Research College and University designation in the 2025 Carnegie Research Activity Classification.

"This new degree program will give students opportunities to participate in cutting-edge research and graduate prepared to make meaningful contributions," says Rosemary Shumba, chair of the Department of Computer Science.
