I almost didnā€™t post this.

Because Pilates is a never-ending work in progress. Because itā€™s not perfect. Because there are things Iā€™d change, things Iā€™m still working on, and plenty of critiques I could make of myself.

But then I thought about something Dolly Parton said "If you keep yourself out of the game for fear of losing, you're never gonna win."

Iā€™m pretty sure Dolly wasnā€™t talking about posting a video of yourself doing a teaser series šŸ˜‚ ā€” but the message still applies.

So here it is. Not perfect. Still a work in progress. And definitely not a reason to hold myself back.

Sometimes you just have to get in the game, keep practicing, keep learning, and get to living. šŸ’™šŸ¦‹

The equipment isn't the workout. It's the feedback.

The Chair and Reformer each provide unique information to the body.

Sometimes that feedback is supportive, helping you discover a movement with greater ease and confidence.

Sometimes it increases the challenge, asking for more strength, control, and precision.

In these photos, we're exploring spinal movement through lateral flexion, thoracic rotation and extension. The exercises may look different, but the purpose is the same: helping each client understand how to move, not just what to do.

That's why we love Pilates equipment. It doesn't just make exercises harder or easierā€”it gives your body the feedback it needs to learn.

Neck bothering you during chest curls?

Before you lift, gently press the base of your skull into the mat and feel the back of your neck lengthen. Keep that length as your eyes travel down the bridge of your nose toward your thighs while your breastbone floats toward your pelvis. Let your head follow the movementā€”it shouldnā€™t be doing the work.

But thatā€™s only part of the equation.

Strong, stable shoulders help take the load off your neck. Supine Arms on the Cadillac build the shoulder stability your chest curl depends on. When your shoulders provide support, your neck doesnā€™t have to.

Sometimes the biggest improvements come from refining the smallest movement patterns. Master the fundamentals, and everything else moves better.
