☀️🍧 Popsicles in the Park was a success! 🍧☀️

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to today’s LES PTA Popsicles in the Park! We had 60+ people join us for an afternoon of popsicles, playtime, and lots of socializing. 💙

And despite the forecast calling for rain, the sunshine held out for us! ☀️ We loved seeing so many LES families spending the last Saturday morning of summer together. Thank you for making it such a fun afternoon!

📣 Don’t forget: Open House is Monday!
Be sure to stop by the LES PTA table to sign up for your PTA membership. When you register, you’ll be able to pick up one of our 2026–2027 calendar magnets to keep on your fridge all year long! 🗓️💙

Unfortunately, it's looking like there will be rain today during the planned Popsicles at the Park event time (10-11 am). Nevertheless, we will still be there handing out ice pops to whomever stops by. Look for a blue cooler with a PTA sign on it and someone wearing a PTA shirt next to it.

Fingers crossed that the weather cooperates, and we can enjoy some time at the playground. But even if not, feel free to swing by and grab an ice pop and say, "Hi!" If we miss seeing you today, we hope to see you at the PTA table at open house on Monday.

We were so happy to welcome our LES staff back this week with Chick-fil-A biscuits & beverages! 🍓🍌🍳☕️

A little breakfast treat for the amazing people who work so hard behind the scenes to prepare for another wonderful school year. ❤️

Help the PTA Welcome New Families at Popsicles at the Park!

Is your family new to LES? Join the Leonardtown Elementary School PTA on Saturday, August 22, from 10-11 a.m. at Wieck Community Playground (41675 Baldrige Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650) for a fun, free meet and greet with LES families new and old. Current LES families are invited to attend as well to meet new families and welcome them to the LES community. Attendees may enjoy a frozen treat, courtesy of the PTA, while supplies last!

We're looking for a Fundraising Chair! No experience with fundraising—or even the PTA—is required. We'll help you get started and support you throughout the school year.

As the Fundraising Chair, you'll be the "big picture" person for the committee. You'll help plan the year's fundraising efforts, lead committee meetings as needed, check in with coordinators to make sure they have what they need to run fundraising activities, and report back to the PTA Board of Directors at quarterly meetings.

Time commitment: About 1–2 hours per week most weeks with a few additional hours leading up to and during major fundraising events.

Some of our goals for the year include:

Hosting one or two major fundraisers, such as a silent auction, read-a-thon, or coupon card sale
Coordinating spirit nights at local restaurants
Organizing spirit wear sales
Securing donations and sponsorships from local businesses

Our hope is to have a coordinator for each of these areas, with the chair providing guidance and support to help each one succeed.

Good Morning LES Families! Hope you are having a wonderful summer! As we are looking ahead at the 26-27 school year the PTA is pulling together and preparing for an amazing year!

We are always welcoming new members to our PTA but have two board positions available that we are still looking to fill: Event Chair and Fundraising Chair. Even if you have no experience with the PTA, you're invited to take on one of these roles.

Responsibilities:
*Set the overall vision and annual plan for your committee
*Recruit, support, and collaborate with event or activity coordinators who will help plan and execute individual initiatives.
*Serve on the PTA Board of Directors by attending quarterly meetings (at least half will be held virtually), providing brief committee updates, and voting on key PTA decisions.

Estimated Time Commitment:
Approximately 1–2 hours/week on average. Additional time may be needed in the weeks leading up to big events.

Why Become a Committee Chair?
*Help shape the experiences and programs offered to our LES students, staff, and families.
*Be part of the leadership team and stay informed about everything happening within the PTA.
*Make a meaningful impact while sharing responsibilities with a team of volunteers rather than managing every detail yourself.

In Flight Coffee Service & Travel Bags ✈️

Yesterday the PTA wrapped up Staff Appreciation Week by providing coffee and travel bags stuffed with goodies for all
staff ☕️🧳

Students showed alpreciation by wearing their teacher’s favorite colors 🌈
