Founded in 1960 to support the community, the Woman’s Club of St. is a501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on raising money for educational and other charitable groups in St. Our members contribute their time and talent toward raising money for college scholarships for high achieving, low-income students. Mary’s, Library Children’s Activities, Greenwell Therapeutic Riding Program, Hospice Tre

e, Keeping Children Warm, Save the Bay, St. Mary’s County Shoe Fund, Veteran’s Home, Skills USA, NAACP Student Backpacks and St. Mary’s Caring. The club conducts two major fundraising events each year. Our primary fundraiser is the annual U.S. National Oyster Festival in October, where the club sells boutique collectibles, crafts, baked goods, coffee and refreshments along with holding a silent auction and flea market. The club also sponsors at least two clothing drives each year. Whether you’re new to the county or a long-time resident, we welcome your participation. Membership offers individuals a sense of fellowship with others from diverse backgrounds and interests and the opportunity to contribute your talent and creativity toward improving the quality of life in our county. Interested in learning more? Come check us out on the third Monday of the month at 11 a.m. at the Patuxent River Ale House (unless otherwise noted). A Dutch-treat lunch is served at noon.

We appreciate your donations and kindly request that your bags not be too heavy, if possible. We are mighty women but we have weight limits 😅

Bags can include any type of textiles (clothing of any kind/bedding/shoes/stuffies/etc), some decor and household items as long as they are NOT electronics, glass or books. Think, anything you'd donate to or buy from a thrift store!

We started with 2 large storage units at maximum capacity and finished with somewhere around 125 bags. We loaded roughly 1150 into the truck!
This is what a loading day looks like for us, working together to move thousands of pounds of donations so they can go on to their next home and yet another chance at helping someone!

What can't be sold or donated within our community travels north where it is redistributed to folks who have a need for these items. The money we raise with these bags goes right into our community in the form of donations to local charities that help St Mary's County residents DIRECTLY and the scholarships we give to local grads every year.

Without our team and the volunteers we get we wouldn't be able to move these mountains of donations! Please let us know if you or someone you know can help on these heavy lifting days as "many hands make for light work!"

Quick thinking and some scrap materials came in handy when a couple of our gals built a temporary wall allowing us to put even more bags into our backup unit!

Our next donation drive thru is this Saturday at 10am! Please help us fill these units back up! Come to Store Here Storage Facility on Great Mills Rd at 21502 Great Mills Rd, Lexington Park, MD 20653 with your bagged donations. We can take just about anything that fits into a trash bag! Just leave out any books, electronics and glass please!
