Playgroup information:
Little Seedlings Playgroup is open to parents/caregivers, and young children aged 1-5. We meet in two different locations on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Playgroups are a great opportunity for children to learn socialization skills. We encourage active parent participation, as parents are the child's first and most important teacher. Playgroup leaders assist with making playgroup a positive play experience, offering a chance for free play, science/exploration activity, open ended crafts, story, and music & movement. Family Fun Nights are offered monthly in collaboration with the Leominster Library at different schools throughout Leominster. They offer a story followed by a fun, open-ended art activity. The Parent-Child Home Program is a home visitation program, focusing in on school readiness. We work with families twice-a-week for two years. Bringing a new book or educational toy each week, and our trained Home Visitors model reading, play and conversation activities for parent and child together. This helps create a language and literacy-rich home environment for children to thrive in. This month's Family Fun Night theme at the Leominster Public Library was Spiders & Bats! 🕷 🦇The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle was read. The children made paper plate spider webs and created spider slime. They also designed a spider web marble painting and played a spider themed game. Additionally, the children created a bat rocket and saw how high they could launch it!

Last Wednesday evening we had our first Family Fun Night a collaboration between Project Apples/Leominster CFCE and Leominster Public Library. The little scientists had fun learning about color mixing and how to create new colors using primary ones. Activities included exploring color with a color mixing sensory bag, creating melting tissue paper art, and making tie-dye coffee filter art.
