When Serafina arrived, she was the most frightened horse in a group of frightened horses. 🌸

This young chestnut mare came to HomeFarm with a baby at her side and fear in her eyes. What has happened since is nothing short of beautiful. Through patient, consistent work, she has formed a deep and trusting bond with her handler, Molly, and meets everyone with curiosity and friendship.

She isn't ready to ride yet but she has participated in some NEIGH programs. Her journey is just beginning. And we are so here for every single step of it.

More than just a scenic walk, these treks offer a unique way to get to know these wonderful animals. At HomeFarm, restoration is who we are—and sometimes, all it takes to reset is a quiet walk in the woods with a gentle soul by your side. Rescued by the MSPCA from an abuse and neglect case, Cappuccino arrived at HomeFarm frightened but curious. Today, he is an affectionate, playful, and genuinely gorgeous horse who rocks a wild blonde forelock like it was meant for him.

Meet Judeau — golden, gaited, and gifted with moves that stop you in your tracks. ✨

This beautiful Icelandic/Rocky Mountain Palomino was generously donated to HomeFarm for our riding programs. Born July 14th, 2018, Judeau is a joy to ride — as an Icelandic, he can show off his smooth, gliding tölt, a four-beat gait unique to the breed that feels like floating.

A massive thank you to our neighbors, Gary and Jeanie Knisely, whose extraordinary fundraising efforts in 2023 helped make HomeFarm the means by which this historic property was saved from becoming 5 house lots and thus changing the character of the historic vista forever.

HomeFarm was born from an effort to save this farm-and Gary and Jeanie were instrumental in making that possible. Both have served on our Board of Directors since and their leadership has guided us to where we are today.

As we launch our Stewardship Campaign, we celebrate the people who began this work--and invite our community to help us continue it. Saving HomeFarm was a first step. Stewarding it for generations to come is the work before us now.
