Deep learning happens when students are invited to participate in the physical spaces that surround them.

At Raymore-Peculiar South Middle School, the DELTA Pod was created to help students learn by doing. An idea can begin at a makerspace table, be explored in the wet lab, strengthened through collaboration and ultimately presented in a dedicated pitch room. Flexible classrooms, shared work areas and informal gathering spaces give students the freedom to work independently, collaborate with classmates and move between different kinds of learning.

Haren Companies helped transform an existing part of the school into an adaptable environment where curiosity, creativity and real-world problem-solving can thrive. We’re proud to help create spaces that make learning feel active, relevant and full of possibility.

We’re excited to welcome Michael Baxley to Haren Companies as our new Director of Business Development!

Michael brings a strong background in arts leadership, nonprofit development and community partnerships, with experience helping organizations navigate complex projects, build meaningful relationships and turn big ideas into something tangible.

That perspective aligns closely with how Haren has approached our work for more than 90 years: understand the purpose behind the project, protect the client’s investment and build relationships that extend well beyond construction.

As Haren continues to grow, Michael will help strengthen those connections and expand the way we support clients across the Kansas City community.

A landmark’s next act. 🎬

Friends of Englewood Theater has selected Haren Companies as general contractor for the historic theater’s renovation, and we’re proud to help move its vision forward.

Phase One will focus on the building exterior, lobby, and mezzanine, including space for future rentals. This phase also includes restoration of the iconic neon marquee, with Kansas City-based Element Ten bringing its expertise to that piece of the project.

Together, these improvements will support a larger vision: reopening Englewood Theater as a cultural hub for Eastern Jackson County, welcoming live performances, movies, and community events.

Our Director of Business Development, Deb Blaylock, stepped behind the bar a couple weeks ago as a guest bartender at Newhouse’s Worthy Pop-Up Bar.
This is an annual Kansas City fundraiser where community leaders pour drinks to help raise funds for survivors of domestic violence and their families. Proud to see Deb giving her time and energy to make an impact in our community.

Meet Diamond! 👷‍♀️

Diamond first joined Haren in 2024 as an intern during her senior year of high school. After graduating, she officially came on board full time and has been a great addition to the team ever since. We’re excited to see her continue to grow and make an impact here at Haren.
