I’ve been asked a few times what resources I use because of my youngests reading so I’m creating a post!

1. Easy Peasy All-in-One Homeschool ‘s reading program!

2. The Good and the Beautiful ‘s reading program!

3. Alphablocks

4. And simply reading with them! Allowing them to try to read and gently correcting it when necessary!

They are such strong programs!!! I HIGHLY recommend with everything in me- homeschooling or not!

If you have made the decision to withdraw from the public school to homeschool in the fall, NOW is the time to send them your withdrawal letter. People are still in the offices wrapping up the year and are there to receive your letters. And you don't want to forget about it. Remember that you do need to withdraw even if you haven't filled out their paperwork for the fall. They are expecting your child to be back and you don't want a truancy issue. And you NEVER have to sign a letter of intent from the school. EVER! It is not legally required to do so and not recommended.

The best option is to mail your letter by certified mail so that you have delivery information. And if you want to add the Return Receipt Requested green card, that will get you a signature from the school. Send your letter to either the superintendent or the principal or both. https://fhe-mo.org/withdrawalletter

If you have just moved to MO or have a new kindergarten child, remember that unless you enrolled at the school and have now changed your mind, you do NOT have to send/notify anyone about homeschooling. If you are coming out of a private school, then just let them know you won't be back. No withdrawal letter needed.

If you DID enroll your little one for K in the fall and now want to homeschool, do NOT use the normal withdrawal letter. Wrong one! Let us know so that we can send you the correct letter.

IEP? You have a choice to make. You can talk to the school to see what services would still be available to your child as a homeschooler. If you decide to continue, then include that on your withdrawal letter and take off the part about no funding. They get funding if they are still working with your child. Example to include on your letter: Child will be at school on Mondays at 2 for speech therapy. IF you choose to NOT continue, you need to cancel the IEP with the school. Send the below letter: one copy with the withdrawal letter and one to the special needs coordinator.

We are a Christian Homeschooling Community and the purpose of KC Homeschoolers On The Go is to build a community with Christ as our foundation! In order to build our community, we have various team building opportunities, learning opportunities, workshops, field trips, volunteering opportunities, and more in store! We want our community to point to and glorify HIM. Now with Christ as our focus, we will also have mornings for praise and worship, prayer hikes, and more. We strongly believe in the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child”. Although, we have differences, we believe having a likeminded village is such a joy! 🥰
