Did you know your child's breakfast could be working against their health?

Everyday staples like Cheerios and oatmeal often contain hidden chemicals — including glyphosate, food dyes, carrageenan, and monosodium glutamate — that can negatively impact your child's gut, brain, and overall functioning.

When considering dietary intervention for children with autism or developmental challenges, it's not just about what they eat — it's about what's in what they eat.
Start by reading labels, eliminating common chemical culprits, and supporting your child's gut health with targeted nutritional support.

What happens when the gut affects the brain— especially in autism.

Elevated yeast, pathogenic bacteria, and food sensitivities can directly affect behavior, mood, sleep, and cognition. Healing the gut is one of the most impactful steps families can take.

The good news? There are targeted, evidence-informed tools to help — from diet and probiotics to digestive enzymes and gut-healing nutrients.

💛 A free webinar to help practitioners and caregivers alike!

If you've ever wondered why your patient or someone you care for has digestive issues, behaviors, or "stuck" symptoms don't fully make sense — chronic fungal overgrowth (candida) and mold exposure could be part of the picture. Researchers and clinicians have documented real connections between fungal imbalances and the digestive symptoms, repetitive behaviors, and biochemical imbalances so common in autism.

Our friend Dr. Kurt Woeller, DO — a well-respected integrative physician who has worked with autism families for years — is hosting a free educational webinar to help parents and practitioners understand this connection more clearly.

You'll learn:

🌿 How candida overgrowth affects the gut and beyond
🧠 Why fungal issues can influence behavior, not just digestion
🔬 What lab testing can (and can't) tell you
🏠 What to know if mold exposure might be part of your child's story

🗓️ Monday, August 17th | 4:30pm Pacific / 7:30pm Eastern
✅ 100% free — register even if you can't watch live, so they can send you the replay

❓Are you concerned about your child's focus and attention this school year? You may want to consider a New Beginnings Nutritionals' Focus and Attention Package!

Our Focus-Mate supplement is specially formulated to support self-regulation, focus, and concentration with a powerful blend of researched-based ingredients:

🔹 Vitamin B6 – Essential for brain development and neurotransmitter synthesis. A deficiency can affect concentration and memory.
🔹 Magnesium – Calms the mind and helps regulate blood sugar. Many are deficient in this crucial mineral.
🔹 Acetyl-L-Carnitine: Converts fatty acids into energy and contributes to the production of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which is required for optimal mental functioning.
🔹 Phosphatidylserine (soy-free) – Vital for brain cell function, enhancing memory, mood, and attention.
🔹 Pycnogenol – An antioxidant that reduces stress and oxidative stress, improving overall brain health.

Plus, our EQUAZEN® PRO medical food targets fatty acid deficiencies that might not be resolved through diet alone. With a unique ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, it’s been shown to improve focus, academic performance, and mood in clinical trials.

What everyday choices may affect gut health during pregnancy and early childhood? 🤔

Research suggests Clostridia bacteria and acetaminophen share the same metabolic pathways — meaning both may compete for the same detox resources in the body.

Science-informed steps worth knowing: → Choose organic food during pregnancy and the first 3 years → Be mindful of antibiotic use, especially cephalosporins → Talk to your doctor about safe pain relief options during pregnancy.

Knowledge is the first step.

What if your child's gut held answers about their brain? 🧠

One of the first studies linking a serious psychiatric condition to intestinal bacteria examined children with regressive autism — kids who developed normally, then lost speech and showed behavioral changes around age 2.

When this pathogenic gut bacteria was treated, 8 out of 10 children showed significant improvement — assessed by a clinical psychologist who was unaware of how each child was treated

The gut-brain connection is real, and the science is growing.

Did you know children with ADHD are often deficient in carnitine — a nutrient essential for converting fatty acids into cellular energy?

One study showed a carnitine supplementation was associated with meaningful improvements in school behavior and behavioral checklists. 19 out of 24 children were assessed and had improved after the study period — with no significant side effects reported.

Both L-Carnitine and Acetyl-L-Carnitine may support focus and behavior. Consult with your healthcare practitioner to find the right fit.
