I always tell my students it is so important to get out and jam with friends. Places like open mics, open jams, drums circles etc. are great opportunities to make friends and play.

Thanks to local open mics like Moon Peak Productions at The Abbey Bar they host events for all ages to join.

This is something I wish I had at that age! Please don’t be afraid to sounds bad! Go jam have fun🎸

Tárrega- Lagrima
A standard in classical repertoire the music of classical guitar is quite different than what most view as “classical standards.”

Composers like Tárrega, Carulli, Giuliani and more captured the essence of guitar as opposed to copying what other instruments did, which was mimic the piano.

These composers paved the way for what was to come for the guitar. Even through the years of the instrument being pushed off as a “toy, beginner instrument, etc”

I even had my fair share of that at Messiah University nearly 300 years later. Yet the guitar stands as one of the greatest selling instruments of all time amassing an extremely large collection of repertoire across every genre of music.

Moral of the story, NEVER GIVE UP!

My partscaster is finally finished thanks to the help of Dylan Madar at The Fret Factory!

Some of my students don’t know what a partscaster is. It’s like taking your favorite parts of all of your favorite guitars and putting it all together. It can be a great hands on way to learn how to build guitars or even as a fun hobby to try new pick ups, necks, tuners and so much more.
