We have another returning vendor for the LHSEF's "Taste of Lemont"! The Lemont High School Educational Foundation is looking forward to Celina's Fresh Market being on hand on Saturday, September 12! They'll be serving up:

Of course we love having students in the building every day at Lemont High School... but it's also nice to see their parents/guardians taking a walk in their shoes at Curriculum Night! We're happy so many of our families were able to join us tonight to learn about what their students will be doing in class, and also to see some of the newly renovated classrooms and common areas on the second floor!

We have some terrific news on a Tuesday morning! Lemont High School ranks 40th among Illinois public high schools on the 2026-27 U.S. News and World Report “Best High Schools” list … the school’s second-highest ranking ever!

Lemont jumped 10 spots from last year’s rankings and is among the state’s top 50 for the fifth time since 2017. Its highest ranking came in 2018, when it was 30th.

Congratulations to Lemont High School Director of Athletics Mike Sommerfeld, who was presented with the 2026 Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award at tonight’s District 210 Board of Education meeting!

The Patriot Award is an official Department of War honor issued through the ESGR. It represents deep gratitude for civilian bosses who go above and beyond to support the military. It specifically honors supervisors who make it easier for employees to balance their civilian jobs with their military service or military family obligations.

Mike was nominated by boys' and girls' swimming coach and Illinois National Guard SFC Michael Forsythe. That nomination highlighted Mike’s outstanding support and flexibility—such as accommodating military training schedules and supporting a military family—making a profound personal difference for Coach Forsythe.

Congratulations Mike … and thank you to ESGR Vice-Chair Michael Holub for making the presentation!
