If you’ve been following our Little Lions, then you already know Angel is a CHARACTER. 😂 But what we have loved watching most is just how much her little personality continues to develop.

And this picture right here?! This is Angel in her natural habitat. 😭

Why is she behind the teacher’s desk?!
Why does she look like she has paperwork to finish?!
Why is she looking at the camera like WE interrupted HER workday?! 😂😂

Because apparently, Angel has promoted herself from student to Assistant Director of Joyful Noise Child Care. Ms. Jazz has not approved this promotion, but Angel has already reported for duty. 😭

But underneath all of that personality is one of the sweetest things we've watched happen: Angel is becoming a helper. ❤️

We have watched her learn how to interact with the other children, participate in our routines, share, communicate, comfort her friends, and become more independent. And because our Little Lions spend so much of their day together, they aren't just learning letters—they're learning how to be little people together.

They learn:
“Can I help?”
“Are you okay?”
“I'm sorry.”
“Here, you can have it.”
“Come play with me.”

And Angel is soaking it ALL up.

At Joyful Noise, those moments matter just as much to us as recognizing a letter or counting to ten. Academic development is important, but so are empathy, independence, responsibility, communication, confidence, and kindness.

And Miss Angel?! She has CONFIDENCE covered. 😂😂😂

Because judging by this picture, she doesn't attend Joyful Noise anymore. She works here. 😭

Somebody get this baby a clipboard, because apparently Ms. Jazz has an employee evaluation coming up. 😂💕

🎀🎉 EVERYBODY STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING — NOVA ARIELLE IS FIVE!!! 🎉🎀

And chileeeee… FIVE YEARS of SASS, ATTITUDE, PERSONALITY, and PURE ENERGY! 😂💗 Our girl Nova is the literal BADDEST THANG WALKING, and if you know Nova, you KNOW I mean bad in every possible definition of the word! 🤣🤣 This baby is ACTIVE! She’s going to run, jump, talk, pose, question you, tell you what she thinks, get into something, get out of it, and probably hit you with a facial expression before you can even process what just happened. 😭😂

But underneath ALLLLLL that personality is one of our smart, beautiful, funny, loving little lions who has brought so much life and laughter into Joyful Noise. 🦁💜 Watching Nova learn, grow, develop her confidence, and become more and more of herself has been such a joy (and headache).

And baby, if THIS is Nova at 5… whew! 😭😂 The world better get ready because Miss Nova Arielle has ARRIVED! 💅🏾🎀

Help us wish our BIG 5-YEAR-OLD the happiest birthday ever! 🎂🎈🎁💗

📚✨ MEET TODAY’S READING TEACHER: AVA! ✨📚

Sometimes the best way to build confident readers is to let them take the teacher’s seat! ❤️ Ava took over reading time and became Ms. Ava for the day—book open, classmates listening, and Ms. Jazz officially off duty! 😂

And listen, she took that job EXTREMELY serious! She had no problem saying "Stop talking," "listen up!" "Wait until I am finished!" "Don't move." With the most stern voice 🤣.

But hey, we live for this!

We love giving our children opportunities to lead because reading aloud builds confidence, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and communication skills—all while showing them that their voices matter. 💙📖

Our 1 & 2-year-old classroom at Joyful Noise Preschool & Daycare has openings! At this age, every day is an opportunity to learn—through music, movement, story time, hands-on play, language development, routines, sharing, and LOTS of exploration. 🎶📚🧩

We’re not just babysitting—we’re building foundations! 🌱 From learning how to communicate and follow directions to developing independence, social skills, and confidence, our little ones are learning from the moment they walk through the door.

😂💙 POV: You’re your own boss, so the dress code is whatever YOU said it was!

A month of Ms. Jazz fits at Joyful Noise — August 3rd through September 2nd! 💅🏾 And if you pay attention, there’s definitely a method to the madness: Monday/Tuesday might give jumpsuit or slacks + blazer, Wednesday is giving two-piece set, Thursday is ALWAYS dress day 👗, and Friday? Jeans, sneakers & a T-shirt. Period. 😂

And those Friday tees can represent ANYTHING — one of my alma maters, Joyful Noise, one of my other businesses, my nonprofit, a fellowship, a university or professional team, boss life, or even an old mayoral campaign shirt. 🤷🏾‍♀️😂 With almost 200 pairs of shoes and enough clothes to probably go 18 months without repeating an outfit, I have OPTIONS, okay?! 👠👟🤣

And YES, my favorite color is BLUE! 💙 Catching me an entire week without wearing something blue somewhere is almost impossible.

Now, you might catch a little skin in a picture or two… but listen: check ya momma, NOT ME! 🤣🤣🤣 I own the building AND wrote the dress code. 😂
