Wild Forest Academy We offer preK, full-time kindergarten to 5th grade and homeschool hybrid options.

Students learn S.T.E.M., language arts, primitive survival skills and mini-farm responsibilities, and more through experiential teaching methods in a unique natural setting.

Wondering what our "Coffee in the Meadow" is all about?

On Coffee in the Meadow mornings, our preschool families are invited to linger a little longer at drop-off - grab a cup of coffee, play with their little one, and enjoy some extra time together before the day begins. It’s a special chance to see their child in their school environment, connect with their teachers, and get a little glimpse into their morning rhythm.

We love creating these little opportunities for families to slow down, connect, and be part of their child’s school day. 💕

Tiny, spiky, and pretty amazing!

Meet the spiny-backed orb weaver - one of the little creatures we discovered around our forest. They go by many nicknames including the jewel spider.

Those bright spines aren’t just for looks! Their unusual shape helps protect these spiders from predators. There's quite a few color variations possible too. And like other orb weavers, they build beautiful, intricate webs to catch their next meal. 🕸️

A big thank you to the Brunswick County 4-H Program for hopping into the Wild Forest fun with us!

Over several visits, our amazing 4-H guest speakers are guiding our students as we begin building out and caring for our school garden this year. Our students are having the chance to get their hands dirty and explore what it takes in detail to grow a thriving garden.

We’re so thankful for community partners who share their knowledge, encourage our young learners, and help bring real-world learning to life. Thank you, Brunswick County 4-H, for growing with us!

The school year is off to such a sweet start!

Our preschoolers are finding their rhythm, growing more comfortable in their new routines, and discovering all the little joys that come with being part of a classroom community.

They’re building fine and gross motor skills, exploring, learning, playing, and making those first sweet friendships that make the preschool years so special.

We love watching these little ones find their place, grow in confidence, and grow together. What a beautiful beginning to a new year!

The Magic is Happening 💕👀

This summer, so many people showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and gave their time, energy, talents, and hearts to Wild Forest Academy. And because of you, something truly special is happening.

To every volunteer who is helping as this summer comes to a close: thank you. Thank you for believing in what we’re building. Thank you for giving when you could have been doing a hundred other things. And thank you for reminding us that a strong school is built by a community.

💚 As we get closer to wrapping up our 2025–2026 school year, we're taking a moment to celebrate the incredible volunteers, guest speakers, and community members who helped make this year so meaningful.

From woodworking and honey infusing to fire safety, engineering, gardening, and sharing favorite stories, each person who spent time with our students brought new knowledge, skills, and inspiration into our learning community. These real-world experiences are such an important part of how we learn, helping students discover new interests while building meaningful connections with the people around them.

While we routinely welcome guest speakers throughout the school year, these photos represent only a small glimpse of the many individuals who shared their time and talents with our students. We know we couldn't include everyone, but we want every volunteer, guest speaker, and community partner to know just how much we appreciate you.

Thank you for investing in our students, sharing your passions, and helping make the 2025–2026 school year one they'll remember. We are so thankful to be part of a community that believes learning extends far beyond the classroom. 🌲💚
