Scholars in Mrs. Kruse’s class are already getting excited about our House System! ❤️💙💚🖤

Students learned about the qualities represented by each House—friendship, giving, dreaming, and courage—and selected the House they’re hoping to join based on the attribute that was most meaningful to them.

Students explored how many drops of water could fit on a coin while learning about the importance of controlling variables during a scientific experiment.

As a reminder on Fridays, students may wear school-appropriate blue jeans with one of the following tops:

⭐️ Mirror Lakes-issued spirit shirt
⭐️ Mirror Lakes house shirt (The one provided to all students)
⭐️ Standard uniform shirt

🖤💚❤️💙 New Families & Kindergarteners:
Don’t worry if you don't have a house or spirit shirt yet! Spirit shirts will be available for purchase soon.
Additionally, all new scholars will be sorted into a house and receive their official Mirror Lakes house shirt on September 4th. More details will be shared shortly!

Gifted was officially back in action this week! 🌎🧭 Both our Intermediate (4th–5th) and Primary (2nd–3rd) Gifted students launched The Gifted Expedition: Where Imagination Becomes Innovation.

Students spent their first day building their expedition crews through team-building activities, learning what our Gifted program will look like this year, and beginning their Expedition Journals. They also reflected on themselves as learners and thinkers and began setting goals for the year.

It was a great first week filled with collaboration, creativity, lots of thinking, and excitement about the adventures ahead!

Scholars from Mrs. Sestac, Ms. Bivens, and Ms. Hilbert’s classes joined Mr. Papp’s class for a hands-on lesson exploring how heat expands the air inside an object, making it less dense and causing it to rise and float!
