Today is the day. The day my business comes to an end. 🥹

Looking back on all the memories, I can’t believe how much I’ve grown and learned, even through failure. These past 2 years have brought joy and difficulty and struggle and triumph in more ways than I can count.

And even though this isn’t the end I had hoped for, I am so grateful for every step along the way, the people I’ve met on here, and the fact that I was entrusted to provide creative, joy-filled learning fun for so many across the country. 💛

Thank you, thank you, thank you friends. You’re the reason these past years have been so meaningful as a business owner. I hope you could sense all the love and time I poured into each box. 🥹📦

I promise I’m not done posting here. But the name will change and the content will change a bit. Don’t worry, I won’t be selling you anything anymore. 😉 So stick around for more motherhood/homeschooling creativity and fun.

Totally fine that I’m shutting down a small business that I’ve been working on for 2 1/2 yrs in JUST TWO WEEKS. 😭😅

This has been a very bittersweet decision, but I know it will be best for my family as we navigate a new season of moving across the country.

If you made it all the way to the end, thanks for attending my Ted talk. 😂😅

There’s so much to say, but to put it simply, this season has come to an end. I had so many ideas for The Maker’s Quest, so many skills I wanted to dive into. Maybe one day I’ll revisit them all, but for now, I know I need to take a step back to focus on this upcoming move, establish a new community, and invest in my family (and the true JOY of homeschooling) without all the stress of a small business. 😅

A couple weekends ago, my daughter had her second market selling her homemade slime. 🫟

And after selling out at her first one, she was so excited to sell out again.

But this time, the location and event were different. Barely anyone passed by her table and she ended up going home with most of her slime.

It’s so easy to try to “rescue” our kids from the feelings of failure, disappointment, and frustration. But it’s here, in the “failure” that she can learn the reality of being an entrepreneur, the importance of perseverance in the face of disappointment and the truth that her value never comes from success or loss.

And because of that, it was a successful event in its own way.

Happy Father’s Day!

I’ve been gifted an amazing man in my husband and I am so grateful to get to have a front row seat to the dad he is to our kiddos. He leads with love, grace, wisdom and humor and it’s one of my favorite things to see how much our kids love him. 💛

Today was the day! 🍨🫟

If you’ve been following along at all with my daughter’s small business journey, then here is the update you’ve been waiting for! It was so much fun getting to see her take this market so seriously, practice money math and conversational skills, and then finally set up shop and sell her homemade slime today!

And amazingly, she SOLD OUT in just two hours! 👏🥹

Getting to watch your child do something that is directly outside of their comfort zone is such a beautiful thing. She was really nervous this morning, but she pushed herself and said afterwards, “I really loved it and want to do more markets, Mom!” 🥰

Thanks for coming along on this journey with us. She’s signed up for several more markets this summer, so we’ll see how those go!
