...and to the Darkside, frustration leads... (OK, bad Yoda joke), BUT it certainly leads nowhere good!
Learning gaps are like poison that spreads and gets worse as time goes on. All subjects suffer, but math is especially susceptible to learning gaps causing trouble as each skill builds on another. Like a house of cards, once successful math students can find themselves struggling, or worse for years because they lack the required skills to solve more complex problems.
If you think your child may have gaps, they most likely are struggling with frustration and possibly feeling less positive about themselves.

There are so many things our kids do not tell us! 😥They are worried about letting us down or being judged by their peers, and the last thing they want to admit is they are struggling in school. When kids push back and aren't engaging with learning and assignments, it isn't because they don't want to be successful, because they do. Their worry is they won't be.
