My name is Lindsey Rich and I taught kindergarten at Central Elementary with Alpine School District for three years and have taught preschool from my home for two years. I am early childhood elementary certified and my certificate is still current. I love seeing how little minds work and enjoy creating a l
earning environment that fosters discovery. I feel that I am uniquely qualified to teach preschool because, as a previous Kindergarten teacher, I know what children need to learn to be prepared for Kindergarten. Teaching Philosophy:
My goal is to provide each student with the skills required to enter Kindergarten and be successful. I want each child to develop a positive attitude about school. I want the students to feel safe and comfortable in a school environment and develop a love and excitement for learning that will last for many years to come. I want children to learn they can reach for the stars and do the impossible. Discipline:
I believe in positive classroom management. Children will be praised for positive actions and encouraged to practice appropriate behaviors. Students will be instructed to use quiet movements, use whisper voices, raising hands, taking turns, and being a “self starter.” My goal is to teach children self-motivation, responsibility, respect for others, and problem solving skills. Parents will be notified if students have difficulty following rules. Tuition:
Two days a week monthly tuition is $75. Tuition is due the first school day of every month. Payment can be made with cash or check. Make checks payable to Lindsey Rich. Registration Fee:
The registration fee is $40. This fee holds your child’s spot and helps pay for snacks and supplies. Eligibility:

We will be learning many new and exciting things in preschool to prepare your child for Kindergarten. Curriculum will be based off of the Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten Utah State core that can be found at www.uen.org/core. Phonics lessons will be taken from Fountas and Pinnale and we will be using Zaner-Bloser handwriting. Subjects and topics covered are listed below:

*The kindergarten state core has recently changed. Some standards may seem high but are based off of the new standards on the core. Preschool is designed to expose your child to a school environment and learning. I will be teaching the things that will be taught in Kindergarten to prepare your child for that experience. While I will be covering these topics do not be alarmed if they are not fully mastered. More exposure promotes better and more confident learning in the future.
