We’ve been working on some exciting Project we can’t wait to make available to you! We are putting together special themes party boxes that can be purchased ad hoc outside of a package or subscription, or even substituted for another given month. This will be perfect for family or small birthday parties, or if you’re just wanting to celebrate your child’s favorite things with them! We’ll be starring with unicorns and dinosaurs! Did you know that seasonal affective disorder (SAD) can impact children as well as adults? Seasonal affective disorder is more common in women than men, and is also common in young people and those who live far from the equator (hey Utah). 👋👋👋

Even if you don’t have full-blown, seasonal affective disorder, it is also common for people to get less Vitamin D, and other essential vitamins in the winter, which can causes feelings of over-tiredness, headaches/migraines, or moodiness. Try talking to your doctor about getting you on a prescription strength vitamin d supplement, or other ways to combat seasonal depression. Vitamin D supplements for kids might also be really helpful.

If it is too cold to go outside, play in the sunlight from a window with your kids. Eating healthy also should help. Fresh foods and veggies are more expensive in the winter, but will provide some of those essential nutrients you or your family may be missing. Also, find ways to enjoy winter and the unique opportunities it brings. As we say here a lot at Koala Bash, attitude is everything, and a fresh perspective, or trying something new can also work wonders.

Generally speaking, pervasive symptoms that last longer than two weeks for you or your kids are reason for concern, and are worth have a conversation with someone about.

Winter can feel long, but we hope these tips are helpful, and can help you lean into and embrace these unique, colder months!

“Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on...” Especially with our cute rainbow Felt at Harts included in the February box! This is the decor items for the month. You can stream them individually to hang from the ceiling as individual parts, you can stream them as a garland or vertically like we did here to hang from the center of the windows or somewhere else. Super fun and super versatile! You can put these cuties together however you like. We also recently listed on Etsy so if you would like to be able to buy one box or even a three or six month subscription without it auto renewing, you know I can do that there! Hope you all are having the very best of weekends!!!

I recently came across some beautiful words by . I love this season. I love having more time with my family, the giving and receiving of gifts. But Christmas can also be very difficult for those who have experienced loss or struggle in any number of other ways. To any struggling this holiday season, our hearts go out to you. And may we all remember that regardless of how we feel in this moment, there is always hope for peace and joy and a new day.

I have been super super sick the last few days. Sometimes life does not go as planned or as we would like it too.

I find this is also true for crafts and family time. I think I’ve mentioned before, but I am not a crafty mom. And I am a little bit of a type a personality. This means that crafting and planning and executing celebrations for my family can be a little stressful for me. This beard is a Santa beard from our December box. It was meant to be white with a bunch of cute white cotton balls pulled gently apart and glued on. That is not how my children decided to execute on my vision. And you know what, it’s fine. It’s cute. They loved it. And I would rather have them making memories where they are enjoying things as they were not intended, than remembering their mom always freaking out every time we sat down to do something together.

It’s the Sunday before Christmas everyone! Hopefully you all got in a nice big nap!

Check out this gorgeous print from we included In-N-Out December boxes! You can find the free printable on her website. She also does a lot of gorgeous custom designs. So check it out. This was the paper tree forest included in each of our boxes. They are so cute and pretty easy to make. Shoot me a message and I can send you the PDF template!
