As you leave Open House, stop by the designated chalk areas for your student to sign their name, draw a fun picture, or write an encouraging message. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the beginning of a new year, showcase your creativity, and leave your mark as part of our Parkway Patriot family.

Please be mindful that all grade levels and families will be participating, so we ask everyone to share the space and leave plenty of room for others to create as well. Together, we’ll fill our sidewalks with kindness, imagination, and Patriot pride.

Our incredible Kindergarten Team is ready to provide a year filled with kindness, discovery, laughter, and learning as we help our students build a strong foundation for lifelong success. From learning letters and numbers to making new friends and creating unforgettable memories, our teachers are eager to help every child shine!

We’re also proud to have Ms. Dennhardt, our dedicated Kindergarten Special Education Teacher, who works alongside our classroom teachers to provide individualized support and ensure every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

We can’t wait to meet all of our kindergarten friends and their families!

Kindergarten Open House Reminder
Join us, July 30, beginning with a Parent Briefing in the Parkway Elementary Gym at 4:30 p.m. Following the presentation, families will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, meet teachers, and kick off an amazing school year together.

Mrs. Peters had the opportunity to spend the morning alongside Fort Polk School Liaison Office representatives, Tiffany Koch and Lindsay Sloggett, visiting the Army Community Service (ACSP) and Prevention Center on Fort Polk. During the visit, she learned more about the many programs, resources, and support services available to the children and families of Parkway Elementary.

As a school that proudly serves military-connected students, it is important that we understand the incredible resources available within our Fort Polk community. By strengthening these partnerships and increasing our awareness of the services offered, we can better support our students, connect families with valuable resources, and foster a positive, collaborative, and communicative school environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

A heartfelt thank you to the Fort Polk School Liaison Office and the Army Community Service and Prevention Center for sharing your knowledge and for your continued commitment to serving our military families. Meet Our Second Grade Team!! ⭐️❤️🤍💙⭐️

Our Parkway Elementary 2nd Grade Team is excited to welcome students for an incredible year of learning, growth, and fun! This dedicated group of teachers is committed to helping every child build confidence, develop strong academic skills, and create a lifelong love of learning in a caring and supportive environment.

This year, half of our 2nd grade students will participate in a team-teaching model designed to maximize instruction and student success. Students in these classrooms will rotate between two expert teachers - Ms. Bailey or Mrs. Blakeney for English Language Arts and Mrs. Bailey or Mrs. Goody for Math and Knowledge. This collaborative approach allows each teacher to specialize in their content area while providing students with engaging, high-quality instruction every day.

Students in Mrs. Kelly’s and Ms. Kirshenbaum’s classrooms will remain with one teacher throughout the entire school day, receiving instruction in all subject areas within their homeroom classroom.

Our team is also proud to include Mrs. Ragle, our extraordinary 2nd Grade Special Education Teacher. Mrs. Ragle works alongside our classroom teachers to provide individualized support, encouragement, and specialized instruction, ensuring every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

No matter which classroom your child is in, every member of our 2nd Grade Team is committed to helping each Patriot Plant Kindness, Grow Greatness, and Shine Like a Patriot!

Patriot Family, we have some Exciting News!

We are thrilled to announce that Parkway Elementary is launching our very own 4-H Club and Cloverbuds program! This exciting opportunity will allow our students to learn, grow, lead, and discover new interests through fun, hands-on experiences. 🍀🍀🍀

What is 4-H?
4-H (4th graders at PKWY) is one of the nation’s largest youth development organizations, helping students build confidence, leadership, responsibility, and life skills through engaging projects, community service, STEM, agriculture, healthy living, and citizenship activities. The four H’s stand for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, representing the values that help young people reach their fullest potential.

What are Cloverbuds?
Cloverbuds is the special 4-H program designed for our youngest learners (Kindergarten through 3rd grade). Through age-appropriate, hands-on activities, students explore science, nature, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving in a fun, non-competitive environment that encourages curiosity and a love of learning.

At Parkway Elementary, we are committed to creating opportunities that help every child Plant Kindness. Grow Greatness. Shine like a Patriot. We can’t wait for our Patriots to become leaders, make new friends, explore exciting projects, and develop skills that will benefit them for years to come.

🌱 Want to learn more? Be sure to stop by the 4-H table during Open House to ask questions and discover all the exciting opportunities waiting for your child.

4-H dues will be $15 and will include school, district, and state dues.

Cloverbud dues will be $10 and will include school, district, and state dues.

T-shirts to order for club members will be available at a separate time.
