Mrs. Wiggins’ and Mrs. Ellis’ second graders are digging deeper into the text! 📚 Using the acronym PIE, students went back into the text to determine the author’s purpose—was the author trying to Persuade, Inform, or Entertain?

They were also introduced to important “power words” they will hear throughout their learning and enjoyed a read-aloud connected to their social studies lesson on rules and laws. Our young readers are learning to think critically and make meaningful connections across subjects!
