As we explore Cultivating Emotional Intelligence, we travel to California to meet the Losee family. They are raising two sons with autism and are intentionally nurturing emotional intelligence by asking thoughtful, forward looking questions about how situations make them feel, how others might feel, and the consequences of words and actions.

A World of Difference - Beacon College Cindy Peterson Alexandra Losee Tim Losee

Our Annual Trip group is having an amazing time in Europe! The first days of travel were full, exciting, and a little exhausting in the best way. We began by flying to Montréal, where we had a seven-hour layover before continuing on to Brussels. After arriving in Belgium, we spent the day taking in the sights and were especially grateful that night for the chance to finally sleep horizontally.

The next morning started early as we headed to Bruges, or Brugge, for a walking tour through the city’s beautiful streets, canals, and historic spaces before continuing on to Paris.

Once in Paris, we visited Notre-Dame de Paris, which reopened to the public in December 2024 after the devastating 2019 fire. After dinner, we took a short evening walking tour through the city, passing the Palais de Justice de Paris on the Île de la Cité and seeing JR’s temporary installation, La Caverne du Pont Neuf, taking shape on the Pont Neuf.

We then made our way back to the hotel by metro to prepare for another early departure, with the Château de Versailles ahead of us and a Seine River cruise planned for later in the afternoon.
