🏥🩺❤️💙Wellness Center Updates:
The Clermont clinics are not closing. Marathon Health will be assuming management of LCS wellness centers, which are currently operated by Premise Health. The Clermont North and Citrus Tower locations are expected to transition to Marathon Health later this summer.
We also expect providers to transition over to marathon. If you have any questions about a specific provider, please let us know.
The *NEW* Leesburg and Tavares/Eustis locations are fully open. The clinics provide physical therapy, mental health services, and primary care.
Both north/central locations also have physicians who have been providing care for LCS employees at Premise, which means they are already familiar with us.
All records will transfer later this summer, but we recommend you contact premise to get copies of your records and ask them to transfer your records to marathon if you use the clinics before August.
We compiled all the district benefits and member benefits information, including information about the wellness clinics, on our website at ➡️ https://www.lcea.org/resources You can use this as a resource. We hope this helps. 😊

Educators Begin 2026 - 2027 Negotiations with Focus on Instructional Compensation
Last Wednesday, the Lake County Education Association (LCEA) entered 2026–27 bargaining discussions on compensation, backed by the priorities and concerns of nearly 500 members who responded to the Bargaining Survey.
The meeting focused on two major topics: LCEA's initial proposal for the November 2026 Salary Referendum Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the impact of the state budget.
Lake County Schools (LCS) has proposed a referendum for the November ballot that includes funding for teacher compensation. Based on survey responses, the LCEA initial proposal for use of proposed referendum dollars includes:
➡️Additional compensation that recognizes years of experience and healthcare benefit support (80% of funds for instructional employee compensation, 20% of funds towards health insurance benefits for all employees)
➡️Each instructional employee shall receive no less than $500
Annual reviews to ensure funds are distributed fairly and transparently.
➡️Instructional employee representation on a Citizen Oversight Committee to monitor referendum spending.
District leadership indicated they understood the intent of the proposal and stated they would bring the proposal to the school board for review.
The district budget projections show a slight decrease in student enrollment. Despite a 1.2% increase in the Base Student Allocation (BSA) funding from the state, the district is projecting a $2.1 million budget deficit based on declining enrollment.
While no agreements were reached today, the conversation marked an important first step toward securing meaningful improvements for educators, which will ultimately promote student success and the community.
LCEA remains committed to collaborating and advocating for compensation, benefits, and working conditions that help recruit, retain, and support the exceptional instructional employees who serve Lake County students every day.
The next bargaining sessions are tentatively scheduled for June 24th at 10:30 AM at the LCEA office and July 1st at 1 PM at the LCS district office. All bargaining sessions are open to the public. Show up in red to advocate for the schools we deserve.
In solidarity,
