These works introduce the child to the function of our base ten number system and the four math operations: addition,subtraction, multiplication and division. The child experiences putting numbers together through taking away, adding, doubling, etc. the number of beads.

Let’s talk about magic ‘e’!
Magic ‘e’ is a fun and engaging way to help children learn how an ‘e’ placed at the end of the word becomes silent and changes the pronunciation of a word. In these pictures, our students are using the moveable alphabets to spell out magic ‘e’ words!

Here, a student is seen working on the yellow knobless cylinders, which decrease in both diameter and height. The knobless cylinders help develop and refine visual discrimination skills- diameter and height in particular for this Montessori material!
