Dear Families-

We want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support that our collective communities have received in just the few days following the devastating fire that has displaced the Bodge/Cosentine/Payne family that includes four LCPS students. Many have asked how they can help, and between the schools involved we are hoping to streamline our efforts which can maximize impact and efficiency.

After meeting with the family and determining initial needs, at this time a gift card collection would be most useful to assist with food, meals, gas, clothing/shoes, and essentials. A sign up genius has been created for those who would like to contribute in this way- https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4FA5AB2DA3F5CE9-55161162-gift. Please refer to the memo within the Sign up Genius for instructions, gift cards are to be brought inside the schools for collection and distribution.

We will also be placing donation collection bins at each school; Catoctin Elementary, JL Simpson Middle, Loudoun County High School, and The Northstar School. Catoctin’s collection bin will be placed out Monday morning, located at the loading dock doors. Items collected here can include clothing, toiletries/essentials, household items, paper products/cutlery, card games/puzzles/games, new socks, new underwear, or other supplies that may be communicated as time goes on and the families’ situation changes.

Below is a list of clothing and shoe sizes for the family. For toiletries, please consider options for sensitive skin and eczema therapy.
Girls size 8-10 clothing, Size 1 or 2 shoe.

Mens size Small and Medium sweatpants, Tagless size Small or Medium shirts and hoodies, XXL shirts, XL hoodies and shirts, 36x34 pants, 32x34 pants

Mens Shoe sizes: 10, 12/13, 8.5 sneaker.

Womens: Size XS or Small lounge pants, XS/S tee shirts & sweatshirts, Medium yoga pants/leggings, Medium tops, 14-16 pants, XL/XXL tops.

Women's shoe sizes: 7.5/8

Calling all artistic Catoctin students!!

We were so excited to kick off our partnership with Loudoun County High School Football team and some of our first graders for "Readers As Leaders" this week! Our first graders were teaching the football team all about letters, letter sounds, making words and of course sharing some great books! It has been so fun to see the student athletes (some returning Cardinals) encouraging our 1st grade readers.

Exciting morning at Catoctin! If you know someone who lost this beauty we found her. Please share in your neighborhoods we would love to reunite the dog with her family.

Update: The owner stopped by the school to claim their dog. 😀 Hopefully dog and owner will be reunited soon! Thank you all to those that shared the post. They knew to come to Catoctin because of a Facebook post they saw.

Calling all Kindergarten families! Please join our wonderful Catoctin Elementary PTA for Popsicles on the Playground tomorrow at 8 am! Looking forward to seeing our Kindergarten students!!

We are so excited to meet our Cardinal Kinders and Kindergarten parents THIS FRIDAY at 8am at the Catoctin playground! Please spread the word if you know of any rising Catoctin Kindergarten families!

Fourth grade students at Catoctin, the Town of Leesburg, and the Arbor Day Foundation worked together this afternoon to plant a beautiful River Birch along our fitness track in honor of Arbor Day. Each fourth grade student also received a Water Oak to plant at home.
