Next week is vacation … and the week of the 17th is the last week to start summer session! So many new students this summer 🥰 but I have room to welcome a few more for summer!

Photos from Carrie Albers - String Educator's post 06/14/2022

It was a long weekend, but one that filled my music tank. To see so many students perform solo for the FIRST time, to see my school kids with their private teacher, and to see my grandfathered students, and to share the true gift that is my adult students with my young students … speechless. I sat next to my two youngest students the entire recital - and to hear there comments and questions just filled my soul. I cannot thank Ashley enough for sharing this weekend with me and to the Durbin family for being such a rock for me musically, spiritually, and as friends.

Studio needs some TLC, organization, and a new rug. Lessons have been upstairs and this dog is 💯 taking advantage of the students melding into our family space 😂🤣 Spoiled is an understatement. Summer sign ups coming soon!

The spring 🌸 pics and intros continue:

Like Ben Folds says, “I am the luckiest” 🥰 Meet Les and Tony. These fabulous musicians came to me after years of playing Irish music for some technique work. I have learned so much from them and truly look forward to our lessons. We always joke about them being my adult “kids” - except they listen to me and practice exponentially more than any of my other students (let’s chalk it up to retirement perks lol).

They may hit me for this but maybe they will do us all favor and post some info about where to catch them playing at sessions or gigging!

What!?!? That is NOT studio cat 🐈‍⬛ Isaiah or 🐈 Midge!! Meet Maui, the newest member of the family. He and the kitties are still working on sharing the studio and Maui is still learning manners - so for the next few weeks we may have him meet you outside then have him hang out in the basement where he is happiest. The good news is he LOVES music ❤️

07/31/2021

These girls made my DAY ❤️ both have been so busy that that practicing our usual rep didn’t make sense, but they wanted to keep up with some lessons this summer - - so…it was chamber music sight reading!!! They played so well, had fun, and we had lots of laughter…and they are so darn cute!

Grumpy girl Midge only likes viola students. Today her FAVORITE student came for an in person lesson for the first time in a year and she literally watched her leave and cried a little 😂. It was so cute to see Midge sniff and then “remember” her favorite student.

Due to a desire to keep the peace 😂🤣 this one is NOT my private student, but I am his practice partner. Daniel is a 7th grader at Farmwell and his favorite music teachers are Ms Geiger, Ms Kauffmann, then me 😂🤣. Daniel has recently come back from a scary left finger injury and has big goals to finish Book 2 .. 7 minutes of practice at a time.

Roll call! Welcome to the studio Georgia! Georgia is an 8th grade cellist at Harmony MS. Although we have just started working together, Georgia is quickly gaining confidence and musical maturity every week. She is analytical and intuitive which keeps me on my toes! Don’t forget girl , I work for YOU 🤣😂

Roll call week! Stop by daily to meet my fantastic musicians! Up first - Andrew, an awesome 7th grader at Harper Park. Fun fact : I almost (accidentally) pulled Andrew off his chair today and he still (joyfully)stayed for his lesson 🤪🥳🤩
