Last night, our Blazers battled hard in the City Championship. While we may not have brought home the championship trophy, this photo of two teammates celebrating captures something we are proud of at Leesburg.
These two students come from different cultures, different backgrounds, and different experiences, but through our Dual Language Immersion program, they are learning to share a common language and, more importantly, build genuine relationships with each other.
This is what DLI is all about. It’s about breaking down barriers, opening doors to understanding, and giving our students the opportunity to connect with people from different backgrounds.
The friendships being built in our classrooms, on our playgrounds, and even on the soccer field are just as meaningful as anything that happens on a scoreboard.
We may not have won the championship last night, but we are proud of the sense of community our Blazers continue to build every day.
Different backgrounds, shared language, stronger together. That’s the power of DLI at Leesburg! 🩵⚡️💛

Our first grade Blazer's enjoyed dreaming big in Mrs. Cox’s class!
Our students had so much fun sharing who they want to be when they grow up! From future careers to big dreams, they loved imagining themselves in the roles they hope to have one day.
Miss Saing, our student teacher from Grace College, made their dreams come to life by adding each student’s picture, with them edited into their future job's uniform! We absolutely love seeing these future doctors, firefighters, athletes, teachers, and so much more!
Who knows…we may just be looking at the future leaders of our community! ❤️⚡️

Happy ! Today, we’re excited to spotlight Anissa Justice, Blind/Low Vision Liaison, for and making a difference here at WCS!

Anissa was nominated by Emily Gough, who shared how hard Anissa works behind the scenes to prepare materials for students who are blind or have visual impairments, including finding creative ways to make math and science graphs accessible. She’s also always willing to step in and support the front office staff wherever she’s needed.

The Blazer spirit was strong today! ⚽️⚡️
Our Leesburg Blazers are headed to the City Championship tonight, and we made sure they knew just how much their school is behind them!
We kicked off the excitement with a school-wide pep rally filled with cheering, school spirit, and plenty of Blazer pride. Our students had the opportunity to hear from the high school soccer coach and some former Leesburg Blazers who are now varsity players at the high school, reminding our current players that once you’re a Blazer, you’re always a Blazer!
Coach Rhodes shared how proud he is of this team and all they have accomplished. And our former Leesburg soccer coach, Ms. Binkerd, sent a special video message with her well wishes for the team. It was such a great reminder of the coaches, players, and Blazers who have helped build this soccer tradition over the years.
Our school spirit was on full display thanks to Ms. Kiser, who made balloons, posters, and buttons to help our students cheer their team on in style!
Tonight, our Blazers take the field for the City Championship, and we couldn’t be prouder of them. No matter what happens, this team has already given our school so much to celebrate.

Kindergarten visited Knollbrook Farm, and learned all about PUMPKINS! In the classroom, they are learning to think like a scientist, observe the world, and use their five senses to explore. It was a beautiful day for a field trip!

Our 2nd graders had a wonderful time learning and exploring at Robert’s Farms! Students learned about our important community partners, farmers, and the important role they play in our community.
They also learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin and explored the different characteristics of pumpkins and gourds, including their unique shapes, sizes, colors, and textures.
Students even had the opportunity to learn about goats and get an up-close look at life on the farm!
It was a fun-filled day of hands-on learning, exploration, and making memories together. A big thank you to Robert’s Farms for providing such a great learning experience for our 2nd graders!

Did you see any familiar faces in the Homecoming Parade? Leesburg float represented the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. We waved at a lot of Leesburg families... and maybe tossed them some extra candy. Go Blazers! And go Warsaw tigers!
