Today, we’re excited to spotlight Tabitha McDonald (WACC teacher and HOSA sponsor) who was nominated by Tracy Beiler for the incredible impact she makes across WCS!

EACH school year, Tabitha helps certify more than 100 WCS staff members in CPR, while also preparing many future healthcare professionals in the classroom! In addition, she leads HOSA, where she provides students with opportunities to compete and explore their futures in healthcare.

Thank you, Tabitha, for investing in our staff & students and ! We appreciate you!

It may not be Tiger Tuesday today... but it’s the perfect Tuesday to get your nominations in!

This year, we’re excited to partner with United Way to make Tiger Tuesday recognition even more special! EACH Tiger Tuesday honoree will receive a $100 Chamber Kosciusko Cash gift card from United Way!

On top of that- every nomination matters! Each quarter, nominees who weren’t selected for a Tiger Tuesday spotlight will be entered into a special drawing for another smaller gift card!

We are also excited to welcome Audrey Kooi to the Special Education team as a paraprofessional. Audrey is currently a student at Grace College which led her to Leesburg for observation hours. "I met Mrs. Henry and I loved the school and meeting the students! It was a great experience and really helped show me how much I enjoy working with these students and in this school," said Miss Audrey. She is most looking forward to getting to know each student and learning how to best meet their needs. In her free time, Audrey enjoys reading and listening to audiobooks, as well as riding her bike and swimming at the YMCA. Please give a warm welcome to Miss Audrey, we are happy to have you on our team! 💙💛

Please join us in welcoming new 1st grade DLI teacher, Norma Terrazas. Although Norma is new to the 1st grade teaching team, she has been an integral part of the Leesburg team for the past three years. She began her journey at Leesburg as a Special Education paraprofessional.
Prior to her work in education, she worked in banking for about 13 years after graduating from Manchester University. Sra. Terrazas shared, "I am especially looking forward to getting to know my students, building strong relationships, and, of course, teaching lots of Spanish!" In her free time, you can find Norma spending time with her family, taking walks, and reading with her daughter.
We are so lucky to have you, Norma! Thank you for continuing to choose Leesburg. 💛💙

We are also thrilled to welcome new 3rd Grade Teacher, Monique Lyon to our Leesburg staff.
"I was previously at Madison for the past nine years teaching special education. Before that I taught 5th grade at Harrison for a year. And before that I was at Leesburg teaching ML! I finally made my way back," sais Mrs. Lyon.
She is looking forward to getting to meet new coworkers and students. In her free time, Mrs. Lyon enjoys hanging out with her family.

We are so excited to be welcoming back many familiar and new faces as we kick off the first full week of the 2026-27 school year!
Please join us in welcoming new staff in the next few posts.
First off, we have Grace Roberts, joining Leesburg Elementary as the new art teacher. Grace said, "I moved to Warsaw July 10th from Fort Wayne. When I was offered this job, I quickly fell in love with Leesburg Elementary and knew it was worth moving for!" Ms. Roberts it looking forward to meeting everyone and inspiring young artists in her classroom. In her free time she enjoys playing video games on the computer with her friends back home, or going for a walk/hike with her Fiance.
