Congratulations to LCDS student Kinsey Eaton for serving as Mayor for a Day in Leesburg!
Kinsey had the unique opportunity to spend the day with Mayor Kelly Burk, getting a behind-the-scenes look at city leadership and local government. From meeting with city staff and signing official documents to visiting the Police and Fire Departments and learning how city services operate, Kinsey experienced firsthand what it takes to help lead a community.
We are so proud of Kinsey for representing Loudoun Country Day School and embracing this incredible leadership opportunity!

This year, our kindergarten students were given the special task of creating portrait drawings of the Class of 2026. Under the guidance of Mrs. Rood, they learned about the placement of facial features and were encouraged to draw what they saw rather than what they thought they saw, using simple lines and shapes.

As their final art project at LCDS, our 8th grade students designed and created unique ceramic vases. The vases were displayed in the lobby on graduation day, showcasing the students' creativity and craftsmanship.
Each graduate gifted their handmade vase, along with their flowers, to their parents and families as a lasting keepsake.
Project led by Diane Wikel, Art Teacher for Grades 5–8.

We were thrilled to welcome back the LCDS Class of 2022 for our special Alumni Reception!
Our alumni had the opportunity to walk the halls of LCDS once again, reconnect with former teachers and classmates, and revisit the wall of graduating class handprints—a lasting reminder of the mark they left on our school community. It was a wonderful evening filled with memories, laughter, and reflections on how far they have come.
We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing where their journeys take them next.

Some traditions are inherited. Others are lived, shared, and passed forward. For our family, Loudoun Country Day School has been all three.
There is something incredibly special about returning to a place filled with childhood memories and watching my children create memories of their own. Our family’s roots at LCDS run deep, and the traditions, values, and warmth of this tight-knit community that once guided me are now guiding my children. We are grateful to be part of a school whose spirit will continue to inspire generations to come.
