🐾 Back to School Celebration from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM for all grades. Walk your schedule, stop by and meet your teachers! 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫 ‼ They will have a one-page of information for you on what your class is about and what school supplies you need for each class! ✏️📘✂️

🐾 The food trucks will be out front and will begin serving by 5:00, so feel free to purchase something to eat!🍦🍔🥗

Make your way to the Heritage High School website for information regarding SY 23-24 Student Parking Passes.

Student parking passes will be available on a first come, first served basis to 11th and 12th grade licensed drivers. Students who only have a learner's permit will not be issued a parking space.

How to get a parking pass?

✅ Fill out Commonwealth of Virginia Student Parking Pass Application.

✅ Bring a completed and signed paper copy of the parking pass application along with their valid driver's license to the school on the following dates:

Seniors--Thursday, August 10th from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Juniors/any remaining Seniors--Friday, August 11th from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Students will only be issued one parking pass and may not pick up passes for any other students. Students who are unavailable to pick up their pass on their designated day may stop by the school and pick up a parking pass between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. starting on Monday, August 14th.

🎓🦁🎨 Seniors that would like to pay $35 to paint their parking spaces will have the opportunity to do so. Please visit the Heritage website to review information and steps to follow.

Booster Members, we are in need of 8-10 adults that are willing to give 2-3 hours of time, reading over scholarship applications and then judging them, as a group. You cannot be a parent of a senior to serve on this team of readers. We plan to review these and meet to make the final decisions the week of May 8th. PTSO needs your help to make our All-Night Grad Party (ANGP) for our Seniors a success! You might be thinking, “What is the All-Night Grad Party?”



The All-Night Grad Party event is a fun “lock-in” event for our Seniors to celebrate graduation with their classmates. They will have Ida Lee all to themselves to enjoy swimming, games, and food!!! Historically, the event is usually held the evening of graduation, this year we are hosting the event a few days before graduation.



In years past, it has been a tradition for the underclass parents to “Pay it Forward” to help with the planning and to volunteer for the event, and in turn the underclass will do the same for you when your student is senior. This year, we are asking our Heritage families (Seniors and Underclass) to volunteer and help with the event. If you would like to help or “Pay it Forward” for the Class of 2023, please click on the links below and consider helping out! "LCPS has partnered with the Cook Center for Human Connection to provide parents and caregivers with trusted resources to help address mental health questions and provide tools to further efforts in eradicating su***de. These free online resources – ParentGuidance.org and My Life is Worth Living - feature videos to assist parents and caregivers in developing strategies to support their children’s mental health.

ParentGuidance.org offers strategies for parents and caregivers to address a range of issues that face children and youth. Backed by therapists, ParentGuidance.org provides specialized courses and professional support. This resource is easy to access and allows parents and caregivers to explore it at their own pace. Unlike other online resources, this information is tailored for children and young adults.

After accessing the ParentGuidance.org site, users are advised to click the “Courses” link in the top navigation bar. This link leads the user to a library of videos on topics ranging from addressing feelings of anxiety and anger to examining the impact of digital media to coping with grief and many more. All the resources under the Courses tab are free but users are required to create a log-in. Some of the other resources available through ParentGuidance.org are available for a fee.

My Life Is Worth Living (mylifeisworthliving.org) is an animated series focusing on teen mental health and su***de prevention. The series follows a diverse group of characters and tells their stories over the course of 20 episodes. The characters experience struggles that many young people face, including bullying, substance use, trauma, and abuse. Parents are encouraged to watch the videos with their teen or on their own and use the topics to initiate or deepen conversations about mental health. Like parentguidance.org, the videos on the My Life Is Worth Living are free.

This year HHS PTSO will be hosting a Welcome Back Breakfast for the teachers and staff of Heritage HS, Harper Park MS, Tolbert ES and Cool Spring ES. We are honored to have so many incredible educators in our building.

This means we are planning a breakfast for 500! This is the first opportunity that we are asking for your help to show our support for our awesome staffs.

Parent volunteers are welcome from all schools.

📣🎤🚨A message from the PTSO:

Dear 9th-11th Grade Parents,

It’s the end of the year, and it’s hard to imagine anything else on your plate at the moment, but the PTSO would like to help make you familiar with the All Night Grad Party (ANGP) for seniors. You might be thinking, “but I don’t have a Senior, so this doesn’t apply to me.”

Historically (aka pre-pandemic) this event is held on the evening of graduation, and is planned by and run by the UNDERCLASS parents! Why? Because not only do the Senior parents have a lot going on (planning their child’s graduation, family in town etc.) but also because… and we know you’ll understand… the Seniors don’t want their own parents hanging around all night at the party!!

As with many things, Covid derailed the ANGP the last couple of years, and along with that, the tradition of underclass parents “Paying it Forward” ended as well. Flash forward to 2022, and thank goodness, the event is scheduled! However, it has been planned by Senior parents, and so far, the few volunteers we have, have been Senior parents. We are asking, with outstretched arms, for underclass parents to volunteer to help out this year at the event, so you can get an idea of what it entails and perhaps help out next year! If not, sadly, the ANGP will be one of many fantastic PTSO led events that will not be possible going forward. If you would like to help Pay it Forward for the Class of 2022, and ensure that your own kids will be able to attend an ANGP when they are Seniors, please click the link below and consider helping out! It’s a super fun night, and a great way to be an active member of the HHS community.
