This is an opportunity for youth and teen entrepreneurs to showcase their talents, share their products, gain experience, and connect with the community.

📢 COMMUNITY UPDATE: Nana's Kitchen Cancelled Today
Friends,
We wanted to let everyone know that Nana's Kitchen will not be opening today as planned.
Nana's Kitchen is more than a meal service. It is a workforce development opportunity where local youth learn farming, food preparation, customer service, entrepreneurship, and what it means to serve their community. The meals we prepare help feed families, and the work provides youth with an opportunity to earn income while gaining real-world experience.
Unfortunately, the youth who were scheduled to report for work this morning did not show up. Because the necessary preparation work was not completed, we are unable to open and serve the community today.
This is one of those hard life lessons. When we commit to serving others, people are counting on us. Responsibility, reliability, and showing up matter—not just for a paycheck, but for the people we serve.
While we're disappointed, we're also hopeful.

See how our youth volunteers are packing Fresh RX produce boxes filled with potatoes, onions, corn, squash, bell peppers, and peaches. This partnership with Albany Area Primary Health Care not only helps our neighbors access fresh food but also supports local Georgia farmers. Your support fuels this vital work in our community.

We're back out here with the Fresh Roots Rising crew, this time harvesting fresh tomatoes.
Now here's the cool part: if you stop by Wingbox & Seafood and order a smash burger with tomatoes, there's a good chance those tomatoes came from right here at Long's Farm and were harvested by these young people.
That's what local food is all about.
When you support local businesses, local farms, and youth development programs, you're helping create a system where everybody wins. Farmers have a market, young people gain real-world experience, and our community gets fresher food.
So we wanted to bring y'all into the tomato patch and show you where some of that goodness starts.

One of the things we love most is helping young people see the full journey—from seed to harvest, from farm to table, and from hard work to serving the community.
These peppers didn't come from a store shelf. They came from the soil, from local farmers, and from hands willing to learn, work, and grow.
That's what Fresh Roots Rising is all about.
