I'm so happy to announce OLC will be hosting the first annual Florida Aquatic & Conservation Expo! Sept. 16th at the Lake Square Mall in Leesburg. The event will showcase environmental and conservation educators and speakers, animal ambassadors, eco friendly vendors, conservation and coloring village, Baby Shark and much more. SWIMMIN WIT DA FISHES!
Healthy coral reefs are vital to a healthy ocean. They are an ecosystem that provides food, shelter, nurseries for many fish, protect coastal areas from storm surge. They also offer great places to dive and see beautiful fish like these.

This is what life looks like at 6,100 meters beneath the surface of the Indian Ocean — a depth of almost 4 miles. The mesmerizing footage was captured by researchers at Minderoo-University of Western Australia last year.

Sharky Saturday!Ginglymostoma cirratum aka the Nurse shark spends alot of time on the ocean floor. Because of this, the lower part of their caudal (tail) fin is much smaller. Unlike most sharks, they can breathe without swimming, by what is known as buccal pumping, sucking water into their mouths and forcing it out through their gills.
