We are a family of educators and caregivers that maintain an equal emphasis on the social and academic realms in a Christian environment. At Morrison Preschool each child receives helpful guidance in social interaction with their classmates, as well as learning opportunities that will enhance their future.
We are looking for a Lead Preschool Teacher to add to our team. A lead teacher must have a great love and patience for children, as well as the ability to guide and mentor Assistant Teachers.
An Lead Teacher's role in the classroom includes:
- Collaborating with and taking instruction from the Curriculum Specialist
- Creating and implementing an age-appropriate weekly lesson plan
- Employing a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
- Observing each child to help them improve their fine and gross motor skills
- Supervising children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Performing diaper changes (if applicable)
- Assisting in potty training (if applicable)
- Assisting in feedings
- Maintaining a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Required skills include:
- Passion for childcare and education
- Willingness to take instruction and/or constructive feedback
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with age-appropriate practices
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
