What's the big idea?!
What big idea were these artists trying to convey? AND can we guess it through some close looking and careful sketching?
"Using your inner sense" "Peace and harmony" "Planets!"
Our guesses were as varied as the incredible works of art we discovered today...

What's the big idea?!
It's a bird, it's a plane, no... It's a bus (full of future aerospace engineers)! 🦸🛩️🚀
Can you guess which insect inspired today's project??
We'll give you some hints...
1) It's a type of pollinator.
2) It has symmetrical wings.
3) It started out as a !
Putting on our artist/scientist hats today for some close-looking at some amazing pollinators and their habitats! 🎨🖌️🔍
Spied on some bugs today 🪲🐞🦋... And then got spied on right back🔎!
So fun to see some old friends and make some new ones in yesterday's Purcellville Parade! Always happy to celebrate America... before we get to turn around and celebrate BUGS in next week's "Great Bug Hunt" Adventure Camp!!
Harold wishes you a Happy Independence Day!
We survived!! In style and with the coolest, 100%-kid-constructed, all-natural shelters this side of the Mississippi...
Shelters had to be fully constructed out of natural materials, had to include some sort of roof and walls, and had to be large enough to fit every team member who assisted in the construction.
Not bad for a day's work. 🛖✨ 🌳

A pretty darn-near perfect adventure day ✨
Foraging success! 🫐😋 We stumbled across some wild blackberry bushes, honeysuckle vines, and wildflowers (not exactly edible, but fun to collect nonetheless!).
Meet (some of) our main characters! "Mr. Rainbow," "The Yeti YETI," and "Alienzz" to name a few... Can't wait to see how these movies turn out!!
Movie time!!! 📽️✨🍿
Lights, camera, WEEK 2! Celebrated by kicking off our "Mini Movie Makers" camp with an outdoor brainstorming session followed by some AMAZING movie pitches... 🎬📽️🎞️
What's even sweeter than 🍦?
Making new friends!! 😍
Today's big question: What makes the yummiest ice cream base? We experimented with cream vs. milk and asked the owners of for their tasty secret. The answer? Cream from happy Virginia cows (with personalized diets and, kid you not, special cow pillows to sleep on at night!)
Field research Day 1! 🍨😋 Thanks, for letting us ask you all the ice cream making questions, for giving us the opportunity to practice our "restaurant manners," and for -- oh yeah -- the DELICIOUS ICE CREAM! ✨
A little rain can't douse our excitement over here! 7 weeks of our 2023 Summer Adventure Camp series have officially begun!! ✨🙌🎉
We still have a few spots left in our bug, flying, and art themed camps if your little one is looking to and this summer! Bring on the fun (learning)!

Our last Foodies of Loudoun Adventure may have been the sweetest yet 🍦😋☀️
What's that you say? $1,500 in free money to spend on educational enrichment?! And at least half of it HAS to be spent by August 15th? And you say it's for ALL school-aged children in Virginia!?!
Next you're going to be telling us something truly CRAZY like that the Learning Adventure Bus is a VDOE approved educational enrichment provider and that my student could do summer camp for free...
Share with any families of little learners who need some magic bus OR other approved type of ed enrichment this summer! Grant is on a first come first serve basis, so register ASAP!
Giving some serious competition today with our lilypad and wildlife inspired watercolors... 🎨🖌️
Our "Little Foodies of Loudoun" Adventure Series had another all-5-star visit today, this time to 😋🍪⭐
Explorers practiced their persuasive writing and speaking skills by participating in a "cookie flavor off," filling out a detailed online survey for Crumbl's new test flavor -- the Chocolate Milk Cookie so scrumptiously modeled, and writing their weekly restaurant criticism (all anonymously and semi-hilariously posted to Google Reviews). Not a bad way to sneak in some tasty, hands-on learning after a day of SOL tests!
Believe in yourself -- and drink smoothies! -- you must.
Pondering today's Guiding Question with a trip to this local gem... A little rain couldn't stop us from being all sorts of inspired by the always-beautiful !🌦️☂️✨
Thanks, for another delicious opportunity to practice our writing skills! Today we practiced the difference between fact and opinion...
FACT: "Mochinuts are made using extra chewy rice flour." OPINION: "They are soooo good and the perfect shape for sharing with friends." 😋🍩
Bus, bus, GOOSE! 🦆❤️
ZERO billy goats were eaten by bridge-dwelling trolls in today's adventure 🙌
Little engineers were tasked with constructing 12-inch high bridges made from 12 sticks and 12 inches of tape -- all strong enough to hold three increasing "billy goat gruff" weights. The natural decorations and reinforcements were a bonus addition, and, according to the troll at least, a very nice touch... 🌻😍
Well. It's official. Bubble tea rocks.
got a unanimous 5 out of 5 stars from these little food critics! After a quick reminder of the value of descriptive language in their reviews, one explorer said it best...
"With all the popping boba, this drink was like a party in my mouth!"🥤💥🎉
Now who says creative writing can't be fun?!
We came. We saw. We frolicked. We (miraculously!) stayed dry.
What an absolutely perfect afternoon at the ! The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and the kiddos were oh-so-happily exploring/conducting research on local ecosystems. Does life get any better?! Harold doesn't think so... 🌈🔍🏞️🌤️
Things aren't looking so great for the LAB Cafe... Apparently being served one sugar snap pea in a hot bus seat just doesn't cut it for these savvy little food critics. 🤷
Patch of dirt or a fossilized deer hoofprint...? The world may never know. 🧐
Who needs to trap a leprechaun when you can trap the rainbow instead?! (Especially when the 'traps' double as an on-the-go color scavenger hunt!) 🌈🍀✨
What can we say? This birthday party was an absolute BLAST! Literally. 💥🧪👨🔬
