🌻 Farm Fresh Week keeps getting sweeter. 🌻

Today our explorers visited Legacy Farms and were lucky enough to get an impromptu tour from the very best tour guide. ❤️ We wandered through rows of gorgeous flowers, learned about what’s growing, and got a surprise ending to our visit with a beautiful, hand-picked bouquet for every single explorer.

But the flowers are only part of what’s growing here...

Legacy Farms is a local nonprofit that creates real-world apprenticeships, job training, and employment opportunities for neurodivergent individuals. Their Growing Together program pairs mentors and apprentices for hands-on learning while building a genuinely neurodiverse community. 🌱

What a beautiful thing for our explorers to get to see firsthand -- Farms can grow food. They can grow flowers. But they can also grow confidence, purpose, belonging, generosity, and community. ❤️

Thank you, Legacy Farms, for welcoming our little crew so warmly — and for showing them such a wonderful example of how growing something beautiful can make the world around you a little more beautiful, too. 🌻💐

Healthy habits are some of the most powerful medicine there is. 🌈💪

Today at Mini Med School, our future doctors learned all about preventative medicine through exercise and healthy eating. We explored how "eating the rainbow" gives our bodies different superpowers—orange foods like carrots help support healthy eyesight, blue and purple foods like blueberries are packed with disease-fighting antioxidants, leafy greens help build strong bones, and so much more.

Then we put our knowledge to the test with a grocery store adventure, hunting for colorful, healthy foods before celebrating with our very own rainbow feast. 🌈✨

Superpowers are still loading... but we're pretty sure this crew is well on their way. 😉

What a SPLASH-tacular week! 💦☀️

This week at Splash Smart, our young adventurers discovered that water isn't just for fun—it's something to understand, respect, and enjoy safely.

We explored the science of flotation by designing our own life-saving devices, learned how to respond in an emergency with hands-on first aid and CPR practice, met incredible firefighters and EMTs who shared what it takes to keep our community safe, and cooled off with plenty of water adventures along the way. From splash pads and swimming to teamwork challenges and life-saving skills, every day was packed with learning disguised as fun.

Our biggest hope? That these campers left not only with amazing memories, but with confidence, knowledge, and skills that could one day help save a life.

🚒 Splash Smart: Day 2 | Firehouse Visit ❤️💦

Today our young lifesavers got an unforgettable behind-the-scenes tour of the incredible Middleburg Fire & Rescue Station!

We explored the station, peeked inside emergency vehicles, learned about lifesaving equipment, and discovered just how much training goes into keeping our community safe.

One of the coolest things we learned? Firefighters actually practice being thrown into a pool while wearing all of their gear! Their air tanks provide enough buoyancy to help keep them afloat—a skill that could one day save their own lives during a water rescue.

The highlight? Watching Ms. Luci live out a lifelong dream by suiting up in full firefighter gear! (Turns out that gear is heavy! 😅)

A huge THANK YOU to the amazing firefighters and EMTs who took time out of their day to answer every question, demonstrate their equipment, and inspire our campers. Your kindness, patience, and dedication made today one these explorers won't soon forget.

Here's to learning from real-life heroes—and to raising the next generation of helpers, problem-solvers, and community leaders. 🚒💙

Day 2: Art Explosion 🎨💦

Today we traded the art studio for the splash pad and discovered that art doesn't have to hang on a wall.

Our young artists explored installation art and ephemeral art—creating colorful chalk masterpieces, watching watercolor paintings transform with water, experimenting with bubbles as a medium, and even turning snow cones into edible works of art. 🌈🫧🍧

Some lasted just a few minutes before washing away... and that was the point.
Sometimes the most beautiful art is meant to be experienced, enjoyed, and then make room for the next big idea. ❤️

At Learning Adventure Bus, we're learning that creativity isn't about perfection—it's about curiosity, experimentation, and seeing the world a little differently.

🌿 Throwing it back to an unforgettable week of Wildcraft: Survive & Thrive!

Our little explorers spent the week discovering what it really takes to survive—and thrive—in the great outdoors. We hiked through forests, waded through cool creeks, learned what makes water safe to drink, practiced our climbing and map-reading skills, foraged for wild berries, built shelters, and discovered that one of the greatest survival tools of all is teamwork and friendship. 💚

The biggest adventures don't always happen indoors. Sometimes they happen with muddy shoes, curious minds, and friends by your side.

Already counting down until we get to do it again...

💚 Meet the newest member of the Learning Adventure Bus crew!

A huge THANK YOU to one incredibly thoughtful LAB family for surprising us with this amazing cooler. 🥹

This beauty has already earned its keep—helping us survive the hottest day of the summer as we hiked to the Bamboo Forest with plenty of ice-cold water.

Our explorers spend long days outside discovering, creating, climbing, hiking, and learning. Having a cooler that can keep everyone refreshed makes such a difference.

We truly have the kindest, most generous families. Thank you for believing in what we're building and for helping us take care of our little adventurers. We are so grateful. ❤️

Here's to a summer full of cold water, popsicles, and big adventures!

Scoopology Week is officially in the books!

What a sweet way to kick off summer.

This week our explorers discovered that ice cream is so much more than a dessert—it's science, engineering, math, creativity, and teamwork all rolled into one!

We: 🥛 Followed milk from goat to gelato and learned how butter is made. 🧈 Churned our very first batch of homemade ice cream. 🧪 Explored states of matter and the food chemistry behind frozen treats. 📚 Researched recipes and flavor combinations. 📝 Wrote our own original ice cream creations. 💰 Budgeted, shopped for ingredients, and brought our ideas to life. 🍨 Mixed, created, sampled, and judged each other's ice cream on taste, presentation, and creativity during our very own taste-test competition.

And because every great summer adventure deserves a grand finale, we wrapped up the week cooling off with a little creek exploration.

Watching these kids ask questions, solve problems, cheer each other on, and proudly share their creations reminded us exactly why we love what we do.

Here's to a summer full of curiosity, messy learning, and unforgettable adventures. ❤️🚌

Tonight Harold is quiet.

Tomorrow these seats will be filled with questions, laughter, ideas, new friendships, and probably a few sticky fingers.

One of my favorite parts of camp is this moment right before it begins—when all the planning, dreaming, and preparation is done, and the adventure is about to become real.

Here's to a summer full of curiosity, community, and kids discovering just how big their world can be.
