We survived!! In style and with the coolest, 100%-kid-constructed, all-natural shelters this side of the Mississippi...
Shelters had to be fully constructed out of natural materials, had to include some sort of roof and walls, and had to be large enough to fit every team member who assisted in the construction.
Not bad for a day's work. 🛖✨ 🌳

Today's big question: What makes the yummiest ice cream base? We experimented with cream vs. milk and asked the owners of for their tasty secret. The answer? Cream from happy Virginia cows (with personalized diets and, kid you not, special cow pillows to sleep on at night!)

Our "Little Foodies of Loudoun" Adventure Series had another all-5-star visit today, this time to 😋🍪⭐
Explorers practiced their persuasive writing and speaking skills by participating in a "cookie flavor off," filling out a detailed online survey for Crumbl's new test flavor -- the Chocolate Milk Cookie so scrumptiously modeled, and writing their weekly restaurant criticism (all anonymously and semi-hilariously posted to Google Reviews). Not a bad way to sneak in some tasty, hands-on learning after a day of SOL tests!

ZERO billy goats were eaten by bridge-dwelling trolls in today's adventure 🙌
Little engineers were tasked with constructing 12-inch high bridges made from 12 sticks and 12 inches of tape -- all strong enough to hold three increasing "billy goat gruff" weights. The natural decorations and reinforcements were a bonus addition, and, according to the troll at least, a very nice touch... 🌻🧌😍

What an absolutely perfect afternoon at the ! The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and the kiddos were oh-so-happily exploring/conducting research on local ecosystems. Does life get any better?! Harold doesn't think so... 🌈🔍🏞️🌤️
