Hey Gators!
Have you joined the PTSA this year? There are several reasons to join and while we'd love to have as many volunteers as possible, NO you aren't required to volunteer or join meetings (though we'd love to see you).
Why join? Your membership supports DWMS efforts like grants for teachers, school mixers, teacher appreciation week, and the 8th grade dance and celebrations.
PTSA does that? Yes we do!

Tonight’s football game vs. East Trails has been CANCELED due to the heat.

-There will be NO practice today. All students should go home immediately after school.
-If the game is rescheduled, communication regarding the make-up date will come directly from Coach Mathews.
-Friday’s practice will be held until 4:30 PM.

A Game: 5:30PM, full 4 quarters.
B Game: directly after A, but only 2 quarters.

Students will be in the cafeteria after school as a team before departing for the game.

Reminder of construction:

Construction directly north of East Trails. To help with access to the school, we recommend the following route:
Take Todd George Road / MO-RA / Greenwood and exit toward SE Ranson Road.
Travel south on SE Ranson Road.
Please be aware that sidewalk construction along Ranson Road may slow traffic, so plan a little extra time.
Turn west onto SE Bailey Road to access East Trails.
Please enter the West entrance (look for Lee's Summit HS Marquee)

A true rockstar! Ms. Parker surprised her classes yesterday by singing a review song over gravity. It wasn’t just a song, Ms. Parker had them pick out parts from the original version that she scientifically corrected!

BSSD students and staff stepped up for local families during the annual Community Unity Week.

The BSSD community collected 39,054 items for Blue Springs Community Services League. The week includes some friendly competition at the elementary, middle, and high school levels to see who can collect the most items. The winners are Voy Spears Jr. Elementary, Delta Woods Middle School, and Blue Springs South High School.

Special thanks to four Scooter’s Coffee locations, that collected $1,867 because of the extra shot of espresso promotion.
