Important Information for Car Rider Families
Thank you for an amazing start to our school year and for your support of our Parent Car Rider lanes!

We need your help in a few areas to keep our students safe, improve traffic flow, and be good neighbors to those traveling to work in the surrounding area.

1. If you are entering from Lakewood Way onto Delta School Road and there is a line of vehicles waiting to enter from the neighborhood, please do not turn left into the school. Instead, continue down the road, safely turn around, and join the end of the car rider line (see map below).
If you are exiting on the north side of the school onto Lakewood Way, please do not turn left. Waiting to make a left turn blocks the entire line of traffic and creates unnecessary delays.

2. If you are dropping off a student along the red curb closest to the building and traffic has stopped, please have your student exit the vehicle while the line is stopped. This helps keep traffic moving efficiently. On rainy days, we will be more flexible to help students get closer to the entrance.

3.If you are dropping off in the far lane and students need to cross traffic, please have them use the crosswalk. We are concerned for the safety of all students, especially those who may be tempted to dart across traffic to reach the 7th-grade entrance.

See you tonight! Don’t forget to stop by the cafeteria to see all things PTSA! We will have a grab-and-go spirit wear (cash or check only) for sale tonight. The online store closes this Sunday!

This year’s Open House/Curriculum Night will be held on August 18th.

This is a great opportunity to walk through schedules, drop off supplies in lockers, and a quick meet-and-greet time with our staff. If you need to have a more extensive conversation with any of our teachers, feel free to email them to set up an appointment once school begins.

We will welcome our 6th-grade families starting at 4:30 p.m. in the gym with a short meeting. If you cannot make it by 4:30, we will still have all handouts available so families can receive the information they need.

We will welcome our 7th- and 8th-grade families at 6:30 p.m. with a brief parent meeting in the gym.

Due to the large number of people in the building, we ask that students do not decorate their lockers at this time. Please do not use contact paper in or on lockers. We do lower the air conditioning for the evening, but it can still get warm with so many people in the building.

During Open House, our PTSA will have some Grab-and-Go Gator gear in select styles available for purchase (cash or check only), online ordering, along with a table to join the PTSA and donate to the Walk-a-Thon event. All options for spirit gear can be found at https://kcswaggershop.com/collections/dwms-gators . Our window of opportunity to buy some great gear online closes AUGUST 23rd.
