Chapel Lakes Elementary School

Our 3rd graders had a “hoot” yesterday dissecting owl pellets and discovering what owls eat! 🦉 Students loved becoming scientists as they observed, sorted, and identified bones and other findings from inside the pellets. Hands-on learning like this helps bring science to life in such an exciting way!

A huge thank you to our amazing PTA for funding this experience and supporting engaging learning opportunities for our students. We appreciate you so much!

Our third grade students have been hard at work learning and applying the writing process - from brainstorming and drafting to revising and publishing - and we are so proud to see them become published authors! 📚✨

Through Student Treasures Publishing, each student had the opportunity to create their own writing piece to add to a classroom book, bringing their creativity and voice to life in a meaningful way.

A huge thank you to Blue Springs Education Foundation for generously providing these books for each student and supporting authentic learning experiences for our students. Your support helps make moments like this possible!

Cheetah Leaders wrapped up their year last Friday😊 We celebrated our CEREAL-sly awesome 5th grade leaders with a fun morning of cereal and special awards.

This group holds such a special place in our hearts. It’s been a joy to watch them grow into confident, kind, and capable leaders. While it’s hard to say goodbye, we are so proud of each of them and can’t wait to see all the amazing things they’ll do at Delta Woods Middle School.

Our third graders had an exciting and engaging visit with author Barb Rosenstock! After completing an author study and learning about biographical profiles, students loved hearing firsthand about her writing process, where her ideas come from, and how her books are created. What an inspiring experience for our young readers and writers!

First Grade had the best time wrapping up their Opinion Writing unit by making their favorite ice cream sundaes! The kiddos got to write an opinion piece about what their favorite ice cream was, draw a picture of it, and bring it to life with all their friends in the courtyard! We had so much fun! Thank you to all our amazing parents that donated items and helped make this experience possible. 🍦🍨
