As many likely already know, one of our beloved teachers, Jonnie Rae was involved in a terrible car accident. Art School is closed, but we wanted to pop on real quick to ask any followers to donate to her gofundme. Jonnie Rae is always a positive encourager. She has hustled for many years in the KC region exposing people who might not otherwise get involved in the art world to connect to visual arts. She was a phenomenal camp teacher and her classes always filled up first. Now she needs our support as well. She was in a fiery crash that has left her in the hospital for weeks. Now that I have a moment, I want to thank everyone who came to our closing reception, and especially thank local artist Beth Martens. She is always a class act. If you know what’s good for you, you’d commission a piece of art from her, as she has reliably captured Lee’s Summit culture for many years. She painted these beautiful watercolors for us and we will always cherish them. Thanks Downtown Lee's Summit for gifting one of these to us. Your dedication to the city and community has tremendous impact, and no one does it better!
