Our students want to help the Leeds Volunteer Fire Department purchase a new thermal imaging camera. Please send in any spare change to support the students in supporting our community. The Fire Department will be in for our annual Fire Safety Presentation on Thursday, October 8. This would be a great time to send in some change and show support.

The goal works out to about $3.67 (yes 6-7) per student to reach our goal.

Using Data to Inform Attendance Interventions!

This Thursday at 3:30 p.m., we kick off the 2026–27 Maine Engagement and Attendance (MEAC) Office Hour series with a look at how Maine schools use data to improve student attendance.

Our first featured school is Leeds Central School, where Principal Shannon Bartash and her team will be recognized for reducing attendance from 18% to 8.5% through targeted practices and interventions. This first session will also feature a segment on accessing and efficiently using data, as well as a diverse panel of experts, including Julie Burr, Assistant Principal of Sumner Memorial High School/Sumner Middle School, and Liam Erickson, School Counselor at Portland High School (Portland Public Schools).

Join us Thursday at 3:30 p.m. to learn, connect, and share ideas! Register here: https://mainestate.zoom.us/meeting/register/oqZhD3jbTcu9w_AZEWf8wA #/
