🧩We’re beyond excited to collaborate with Glenwood Autism and Allan Cott School where Mark Lucas is bringing the party every week with neuro-inclusive group music sessions!

🪇🪘🎤Shakers, tambourines, drums, microphones—if it makes noise, we’re using it to spread joy and make some serious musical magic. The kids are loving it, and the benefits are incredible—better coordination, communication, and so much more.

Big thanks to the amazing team at Allan Cott School for letting us join the fun and for everything they do to support kids with autism and intellectual disabilities. We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to keep the beat going together!

🎶 At The Music Room, we're dedicated to helping our students "breathe" life into their music!🎶 Take a look at this session with Mrs. Patty and her student using a Hoberman ball to master proper breathing techniques.

Here's how the Hoberman ball helps our voice students:

🌀Visual Representation of Breath Cycle: Expansion for inhalation and contraction for exhalation help students visualize and feel how their lungs and diaphragm should move.

🫁Diaphragmatic Breathing: The ball emphasizes the importance of using the diaphragm, promoting deep, effective breaths.

💨Consistent Airflow: Smoothly expanding and contracting the ball demonstrates the need for steady breath support while singing.

✋Engagement and Kinesthetic Learning: Hands-on practice with the ball makes learning more interactive and engaging.

👁Visual Feedback: Immediate feedback helps students improve their breathing technique in real time.

Mrs. Patty recently organized a special trip for some of our teen girl students to see the enchanting opera "Cendrillon" by Massenet in English at her alma mater, The University of Montevallo! 🌟🎭

Exposure to opera enriches students' understanding of vocal techniques, musical storytelling, and diverse performance styles. 🎶📖
